Corvette Salvage yards in Detroit Metro

Does anyone know of or have experience with Corvette salvage yards (or regular salvage) in the Detroit Metro area? Are there any good ones, if so, where?

No experience with them but there is Michigan Corvette Recyclers in Riga which is off US-23 on the road to Blissfield. It's outside of Metro Detroit but the only one I can think of off hand.

I called there looking for a used pumpkin and their price for a used unrebuilt one was almost as much as ZIP's rebuilt one. Told him that his price was too high but would take a bag of what he was smoking, must have been killer. :jester

Mich Corvette recyclers wanted $275 for the radio speaker harness for my 71'. The harness has 3 wires and a couple of connectors. Ended up buying it from a fellow forum member for the price of shipping. What do you need?

Hey Bill,

Saw you got a ticket on Woodward you bad boy you :jester I've dealt with Tracy Vette and I don't care much for their attitude, kind of like another vendor people complain about. They used to have real cool stuff back in the 70's, I was in their about 4-5 years ago and they all stood around looking at me like I just came from Mars

I'll be back home Sept 10th so I'll try and give you a call.

For those of you on the northen end of the Detroit area there is Dynamic Corvettes up in Saginaw. The guy that runs the place is a real straight shooter. Call em at (989) 781-3521.

Vette Products in Lake Orion isn't to bad. He has alot of used stuff as well as new. Prices are better than I have seen in most catalogs. They keep Corvette Central cat. on the counter to check prices against.

I should be around at that time so give me a shout. Best bet is to call my cell phone - 810-839-5595. Maybe we can hook up with some of the other local forum guys, and I can demonstrate my specific Woodward Cruise ticket technique

i deal with vette products of mi in lake orion also. no complaints here.
dont know about their used inventory. i mostly buy new stuff for my 79.
great question. there are some used parts i am in the market for. ill try asking in the parts forum when im ready to buy. sounds like a great idea
didnt see you guys at the dream cruise. didnt know where to look. i was downtown birmingham at a private vette party. parked it this year. lost my water pump last year and had to get a tow home from the cruise :mad :seeya

I did the dream cruise on Friday, I was hoping it would be less busy. It took me 1.5 hours to get from I-696 to 12-mile. I had to get off at 12-mile, my left foot was killing me. Saturday I was in a supplier's tent watching the action. Next year the Michigan member should plan something.....

I think I will post in the parts area first, then try some of these. Thanks for the suggestions! New parts are so expensive! I am looking for C4 seats that don't need new covers or foam. Also, need some door hardware. The lock mechanism and the rods that connect everything. My driver's side door has string, yes, string between the lock know mechanism and the actual lock.

Maybee Bill will have the 70 running by next year. I like the Idea of getting together next year. I missed it this for the first time (my dad was in the hospital).
See you up at the bowling alley Kim.

I really have to get my act together and get started. It was really painful to not be able to drive the '70 during all the Woodward cruise events :(
