Has anyone used the Monroe coil overs on the rear of a 57?
|
Why?
I'm not sure why you would want to do that. You could create a huge balance problem with the spring rates. The front and rears would be totally out of balance. I'm sure it could be done but the calculations make my head hurt. A lot of us here are running KYBs on our straight axle cars. They're probably the best value. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.cor...2ff8d1322f.jpg Richard Newton C1 Shocks and Tires |
Are you using the Gas-a-Just or the KYB AGX manually adjustable shocks?
|
I'm not real big on adjustable shocks.
I just use the plain-jane KYBs. I just use the car for driving around and a little bit on the interstate. They're great. I also use new Michelin radials. They made a huge difference. Richard Newton |
I assume that you want to replace your leaf springs with coil over shocks and some sort of 4 link system or something similar?
You can't use leaf springs and coil over shocks as they would work against each other. Unless you are talking about shocks with helper springs. If you want to replace your standard shock absorbers Bilstein products are excellent. |
