WTS & WTB - fuel pump (1972 LT1 for 1968 L79)

WTS - 1972 LT1 fuel pump (7L40956) - used fuel pump removed from my 1968 - L79 restoration project. Working when removed. Not sure of accurate market value, but I'll offer at $185 to cover expense for my WTB request below. I've cleaned up a bit. Photo attached here, is what you'll get. I'll trade even for my WTB. I believe 7L may be January 7, 1972.
WTB - 1968, 327/350HP fuel pump (40568) with July 1968 date code. Needs to be at least 6 months before July 12, 1968.

I was unaware anyone knew the decoder key for the date? I will have to check my 40956 when I get home.

Just an educated guess. Look here for another example. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...n-project.html

Hi Joe,
It would be interesting to see if enough examples of the stamp from known original cars could begin to be assembled to lead some credence to decoding the dates.
Regards,
Alan
