Wrecked Corvettes I-65 South Alabama

Sad site today in Alabama on I-65 South. Looks like 2 trucks wanted the same position and the brand new Corvettes took the impact. Hopefully the pictures will post below. I guess the only positive, probably a good deal on a very low mile Corvette with a few scratches!!

Day-am! Somebody is going to be waiting a little longer for their dream car. I wonder if they consider the entire load a loss for insurance purposes and what happens to the undamaged cars?

RickConti@Coughlin 02-16-2017 03:36 PM

WORST FEAR when a Corvette is traveling down the road in someone else's control

DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!

John Micheal Henry 02-16-2017 03:42 PM

Glad nobody was hurt. The cars can be replaced and will be with stock sitting at the Bowling Green Plant.. 170 day supply of cars..no shortage

speedlink 02-16-2017 03:50 PM

Wow, just Wow! You just never know what can happen. I would bet only 3 or 4 cars were damaged.

brooklync5 02-16-2017 03:52 PM

That sucks!

Corvette ED 02-16-2017 03:53 PM

How would like to be waiting for your ordered car only to find out it was totaled before it got off the truck?

vbdenny 02-16-2017 03:53 PM

Wow. How rare it is to see a truckload of new Corvettes let alone one wrecked. Great photo capture.

Foosh 02-16-2017 03:55 PM

Sure, there's plenty of stock, but I hope one of those was not someone's custom-ordered pride and joy.

Corvette ED 02-16-2017 03:55 PM

Mike Furman will have some new photos for his Sunday post.

thill444 02-16-2017 03:57 PM

It's just a surface scratch, I am sure they will patch that up and nobody will know :willy:

OnPoint 02-16-2017 03:58 PM

Ya, that'll buff out. No problem! Per John Candy

Supersonic 427 02-16-2017 04:39 PM

Looks like 3 of them were hit pretty good. What a shame! I wonder what happens to these damaged new Vettes?

Maxpowers 02-16-2017 04:44 PM

So it looks like that container truck changed lanes without looking.

drobbins 02-16-2017 04:50 PM

as someone with a car in transit I could've done without this.
surely you don't get to NC from BG through AL
sure wish my dealer would email status

Strake 02-16-2017 04:55 PM

Also, with the transport's hydraulic lift destroyed, HOW will they get the undamaged cars off of the truck ???

mtaxman 02-16-2017 04:57 PM

Nice cargo insurance claim...Dump Truck owner vs. Car carrier...I can't imagine they will fix these cars and attempt to resell them.
I don't know the law on that aspect but any insurer who now "owns" these cars likely would not take on the liability.
Who in their right mind would want one at even 25 cents on the dollar?
Definitely feel for the intended buyer.

Absolutely unbelievable. I'm thinking someone on this Forum is waiting for his car to be delivered and happens to read this post. Frantic phone calls to follow.
