Am I the only one who has never listened to their AM radio?

Had my C7 for almost 2 years and I have yet to listen to 1 second of am radio-not even sure where the presets are at. I listen to my I phone songs or xm-no news, talk or weather listening for me-must be music when I am driving my C7. OTOH the majority of my listening in my DD is talk and weather. Anybody else a virgin regarding am radio?

We have an AM radio?

JonMN 03-19-2017 09:47 AM

Nope, not the only one! If I am on the radio at all it's split between XM 26 (Classic Vinyl) and 27 (Deep Tracks).

I listen to more AM talk radio than anything else while in my daily driver and I will do politics shows all day long 24/7, unless I'm in the Vette.

Channel 39

itaylorm 03-19-2017 09:57 AM

Not me either. I listen to my iPhone music or audio books

AM radio? I think I remember that kind of radio back when I drove my Dad's 57 Ford.

Snowwolfe 03-19-2017 10:09 AM

No.

trivette 03-19-2017 10:20 AM

Not sure how to access it on mine either; a couple of local FM or XM is all I listen to.

AM radio in a Corvette.....

Steve Garrett 03-19-2017 10:50 AM

Yes...you are the only one! LOL.....

I listen to AM radio all the time in my C6, as the local news/traffic/weather station is AM plus they broadcast the Toronto Blue Jays games on AM as well :)

I have not listened to AM radio since I had a my first car that came with a factory AM only radio - a 69 Dodge.

Funny how GM discontinued CD/DVD players but keeps AM going. Wonder who/when will be the first to drop AM/FM radios?

2K14C7 03-19-2017 11:10 AM

XM, FM and iPhone. No AM for me.

dvilin 03-19-2017 11:33 AM

Turned the radio on when I first took delivery of my Vette to make sure it worked. Then pulled fuse #42 so the NPP valves would stay open all the time. And that is what I listen to.:yesnod:

Not since my grandmother listening to Paul Harvey in the kitchen... Good memories though, but antiquated nonetheless.

defaria 03-19-2017 11:51 AM

Are you trying to tell me there's an AM radio in my 2016 C7? I don't believe you. Next you'll be saying there's an FM radio in there too!

Rooster OG 03-19-2017 12:24 PM

I listen to Giants baseball on mine.

KoolCorvette 03-19-2017 12:25 PM

I listen to news and traffic dedicated stations on AM quite often.

thill444 03-19-2017 12:44 PM

I don't even have FM stations preset. I either listen to podcasts or music from my iPhone.

I'm surprised the ad monkeys haven't released an April Fools like commercial. Maybe a split screen advertising the same vehicle with one end showcasing the latest and greatest, while the other flaunts decades old technology like AM radio, power windows, and unleaded fuel compatibility.

A couple of baseball enthusiasts on this thread. It's almost that time again. They usually have it on AM if the Wings are on the FM broadcast. But since they're terrible this year, they might get the bump until the last game at Joe Louis Arena. Otherwise, XM will usually cater to my baseball radio needs, as I'm a huge fan of the sport.
