Off Topic? - Model train guys here
 

On our recent trip to Palm Springs my wife wanted to see the Living Desert Zoo/Gardens. Didn't know what it would be but they had an interesting Model Train exhibit that I thought might interest some here.
The trains were all running. :thumbs:

Incredible! And to think it's a large-scale and not an HO-scale setup. (not that there's anything wrong with that), but if you consider these are slightly larger than Lionel train sets, well..

Thanks for sharing that. I may show those pics to my wife who may stop wondering what I see in my collection of model cars. Nawww, she'll never stop wondering about my interests... So long as she is among them.

This is the largest scale railroad in the world. Over 2200 acres and over 30 miles of track located in central Oregon not too far from Crater Lake.

We have stopped there a couple times over the years on our way to Reno.

The place is heaven for any model railroad buff. Search train mountain videos for more action. :thumbs:

That's quite a place. Been down around there several times but never got up to Crater Lake although it's been on the to-do-list. Stayed as close as Coos Bay last summer, and even Seven Feathers. Will have to see this as well as the Lake next trip down that way.

Maybe you should try a trip like this for the wife,:thumbs: if the cruise doesn't work out for you. Stayed in Palm Springs for two weeks and rented a house with a pool for quite a bit less than the last cruise. Even went back up to Vegas for a Rod Stewart concert for a day and a half. Mostly laid back and enjoyed the weather(in the 90's the last week) and hit a few places we like to go.

I've always loved trains since my dad bought me my first Lionel set when I was 5 years old. I've never outgrown them and even now have this N Scale layout in my garage...

Have any of you ever seen the scale model airport in Germany? It also has trains plus cars, trucks running. Looks like a fun place to work.
