How much fuel does the motor require to crank?

For my new blown 383 setup, I had LS1Speed fuel rails and return plumbing installed (on top of my existing Racetronix) for the fuel system. One of the downsides of this setup is that new fuel lines were run, without a check valve sitting between the pump and the rails. Without a check valve there, the motor has to be cranked 2 or 3 times to finally build enough fuel pressure to turn over.

The fuel lines are -10, which is perfect since Aeromotive sells a -10 fuel line check valve. My big question though is, how much fuel would the motor require to crank up? Would the fuel in the rails be enough? If so, the check valve installation could literally be a 10 minute job, if I can locate it right before the rail. If not, I will have to figure out how to adapt the check valve ends to the fittings near the fuel tank which could prove quite difficult.

Any thoughts? I know closer to the pump is better -- but I'm just trying to do anything to avoid having to crank the car 2 or 3 times to get it to turn over, and I'd prefer that "anything" to only take me 10-15 minutes :D
