I think my new C7 is trying to kill my iPod

Not in a C7 but my 160GB iPod Classic routinely dies if I leave it connected in my Honda. It seems the car can't charge it fast enough while it's in use. On a regular basis the Honda tells me that my iPod is "unsupported". Wonder if the C7 is similar?

Does your iPhone 6 play music fine over USB? Mine will play at a normal volume then after a while, 5 to 40 minutes the head unit will say no source detected. Then it switches to bluetooth at a much lower volume.
Think its the car as it keeps working for 10 hours straight on my 15 Harley, and it works fine in the Range Rover.
I have a 32 gig iPod touch that has worked fine all last summer. I am going to test it today and see if it still works fine. My iPhone 6 worked fine last fall, but quite working right 4 days ago.
If the iPod touch does not work right, then it has to be an issue with the usb ports or router in the car.
Will most likely check a 8 gig memory stick with mp3.

iPhone 6 has latest software and it quits playing music when connected to same usb cord and plug in car that touch was using.
Seems the car does not play well with the iPhone 6 newest software. Im sure Chevy will say its apples issue. Apple with say its chevys issue.

I didn't read all the details, but a couple of things:
1. Location of iPod?
As in DON'T USE THE CENTER CONSOLE. Use the behind the screen cubby. If you leave it in the console (was an issue on the C6 as well) the thing WILL overheat and then shut off to "save" itself. If your iPod is getting too hot to the touch, this is your issue.
2. USB or Bluetooth?
Bluetooth Volume IS controllable on the iPod! You might have to jack it all the way up on the iPod or else it will sound quiet on the radio. THIS IS A PER BLUETOOTH DEVICE SETTING! As in you MUST adjust it on each new paired Bluetooth device. Sometimes this works right, but usually you must manually set it.
3. USB Cord?
Use ONLY the official Apple cords. I've tried (even on my PC) using other cords or "universal" models and performance is ALWAYS degraded (and it drops connections more). iPods are SUPER freaking picky about this, and the Apple cords (and their ridiculous cost I know) just work better.
4. Bluetooth Audio Issues:
Apple in typical Apple fashion HAS NOT implemented the Bluetooth protocol according to standard (Phone users see this in the inability to send Text Messages from cars to the iPhone). But in Audio it applies as well. Sometimes iPods will connect and work, other times they need to be started on the device after they connect and then they work fine, and finally sometimes they connect and work, but PLAY SOUND out of the iPhone speaker not the car speakers (immensely annoying). Typically to solve Bluetooth issues, disconnect the device (no need to delete it), then switch Bluetooth OFF, then back ON, then reconnect.

However with the iOS 8.1.x updates it no longer plays music correctly via USB. It will play for a bit an stop. Then shows no media connected. When I first got the iPhone 6 it worked flawless via USB for music and bloothooth for calls in the Stingray and Range Rover and Harley.
With iOS 8.1.x it no acts the same in the Stingray and Range Rover, plays a few minutes and stops when using USB. Haven't had a chance to test on my Harley but I bet it doesn't work right on it either.
Really pisses me off as that is the whole reason I went from Android to iPhone, music via usb.

The "Siri Eyes Free" interface should allow you to pick a new playlist (or album, or artist) without the need for a "browse" interface on the screen.
The Ford Sync system does this when I use Bluetooth at work. It's not as nice as a "browse" interface, but music from my iPhone is better than the radio!

No, when it is working correctly it remembers the play list and track you were on when you unplugged it.
Sad it works 100% correct all the time on my 40K harley, and on my wife 25K harley. Yet does not work 100% correct on a 70K car. With the bikes any cable works and all music settings work on the iPhone 6.
Did figure out yesterday it will work only with an Apple cord, and only if on the music setting on the iPhone you shut off Show All Music, Group by Album Artist, and Lyrics and Podcast info
I know it work for an hour set like that with two short 10 minutes stops.

Can't get Ipod to work in my 2015 C7. Funny thing is, it worked great in my 2014 C7. I could use playlists, shuffle, anything I wanted. In the 2015 I plug it in to the USB using an Apple cord....the infotainment player recognizes it but will NOT play music from it. I've copied my songs to a flash drive and that works sort of. I can select artists, albums, and songs, but no playlists and no shuffle play is available. This really sucks to have something that worked in the 2014 and not in the 2015.
The good news is my Iphone 6 still works great and I can use all the functions with it. I would prefer have a form of media to put my songs on which would give me all music functionality of an iphone or ipod and could always be plugged in.

Actually I think I may have solved the problem, the iPod (both the original one and the new one) worked fine in our Chevy Cruze. I switched the USB cord out and the iPod seems to work fine. We took it with us to Carlisle and on the Caravan and used it nearly every day for the entire trip without issue. I think the issue may have been my USB cord as the iPod kept it's charge and is still working fine!

I have a '15 Z51 and have had lots of problems within the USB with i devices. Has anyone noticed a high pitch whine when streaming music via Bluetooth and iPhone 6? It almost sounds like an alternator whine, except it doesn't change with throttle response.
