Me and you both. Even after adding in buying some tools I'm going to be quite a bit under what this would have cost to just buy.

Not to take this in to the weeds, but...
Has e85 always been 85% E, even in cold winter climates? The standard said they had the option (limit) to get down to 51% E in colder climates, where a higher VP was required (requiring more HC's). We (any refiner) can make any 'BOB to meet any VP once blended with the planned E content. CNA 91 E10 is just low octane crap, with a higher VP, but on spec when the E is added. They can't transfer E in pipelines do to it's propensity to absorb H2O. So all of the blending is done at the final/last point (normally a truck). Thus I smell BS somewhere...
Interesting read The Impact of Low Octane Hydrocarbon Blending Streams on
the Knock Limit of “E85”
https://bioenergykdf.net/system/file...85_Szybist.pdf
They even talk about making a new "lower octane" high E content fuel. Bad news...they even mention the benefits of the current high octane - high E content fuels, suggesting there's too much giveaway ($$$). I.e., they want to use lower octane blend stocks mixed with E. New recipes always suck.
The 91 octane CNA special was a result of the Kinder Morgan pipeline folks - not the refiners. The new E blends may be a victim of similar crap..
So Arizona is the first to comply with the new ASTM D5798-11 which lowers the blend to meet requirements for vapor pressure.

E70 is about what I've been seeing here right now. No idea what we "usually" get in the winter, though

I'll drive by our local E85 and check it...
Bottom line after digesting this **** is; refiners hate to have "giveaway*. E - (anything over ~50&) has AKI or pump octane giveaway. To Refiners and blenders, that money thrown away. E85 has mucho octane giveaway, and they seem to be trying to find a blend/recipe option to reduce that.
Need more corn burners here to drive up demand!
Thanks

In other news, some of the fittings came in. Actually I think everything left that I need came in, but most of it shipped to work and I was traveling today so haven't been by the office.
Couple of ORB to AN fittings came to the house so.. more pictures because it's better than talking about E50 vs. E85

Thank goodness in my area they cater to the corn burners and you can find everything from e99 to stations that guarantee their ethanol content.
Looking forward to the pump install details : )

Check valve direction?
Looks like this pump might have a check valve built in. Not sure though, can't find anything on it

Air goes one way but not the other. I can't find anything about it though? I figured DW would mention it if it had one. It seems to though
