Default Tuner or tires?

2005 C6 a4 Ls2

trying to decide to get handheld tuner first with a canned tune

or

Michelin pilot super sport rear tires (non runflat)

Which would be better for drag racing? I slip at second gear on my 6 year old eagle f1 runflats so more power might make that worse which may not even help my time? but tires could help a reduce the slip I already experience?

MPSS will make you feel like you have a tune when you finally have real traction.

I would go with the tires as more power is useless if you cant get it to the ground

New tires first. Lots of threads here on which are best.
Tire rack also has a good selection with reviews.
Your tires are old and hard.
Don't mix fronts and backs. With new rears the fronts will imbalance the car under hard moves.

Is there nowhere in your area that can do a dyno tune or street tune with HP tuners?? Just never been a fan of handhelds.
Definitely the tires first. More power and harder shifts are only going to exacerbate your problems. Old heat-cycled tires are no beuno. You'll be amazed how much better those PSS are. "Nothing effects everything like tires and weight"
