C6 Z06 Brake pads - suggestions?
I have a 2007 C6 Z06 that I Auto-X and Track. I am on my 2nd set of OE brake pads and need to replace them again (after 800 miles). The OE pads wear out way too soon. What do you recommend I replace the OE brake pads with?

Check out Carbotech. I use the XP10 in the front and XP8 in the rear for HPDE at Spring Mountain. Their web site has good descriptions of their pads. Check with Adam at Carbotech - they usually offer a discount to Corvette Forum members.

I will be happy to help you. Do you plan on leaving the pads on as a DD and what race tires do you use?

You may get away with a set of pads that work for both street and autocross, but you will have to get used to swapping pads between street use and road circuit use. Pads that work on the street will quickly overheat and wear out quickly on road circuits and track pads will squeal very badly for street use. For the rear I do use the same rotors when I swap from carbotech Bobcats on the street to Carbotech XP10's for the track. I also swap front rotors when I do the pad change up front.
Most track pads for the stock Z06 front calipers will wear out in 5-6 days if the car is driven near its capability, so pad cost and replacement needs to be in the budget for these type events.

I run Carbotech XP20s front and XP10s rear on the track and street. They stop as good as oem pads when cold and wrinkle pavement when warmed up. Squeal doesn't bother me.

Swapped my stock for StopTech performance Street single pad. Seems to be good so far, from researching is a good balance between street and track. Just depends what's important to you. They squeak a little compared to stock but not too bad. I'm also running dba 4000 rotors.

Stoptech pad on OEM rotors for C6 Z06
Hello folks,
It's the first time changing the brake pads. I drive the car daily and I am very gentle with it, no tracking, no racing. Are Stoptech pads ok with the OEM slotted rotors?
Thank you

Not gonna get anything to bite hard without some dust. Put on before winter storage 1 piece Hawk HPS and new factory rotors and a bleed with Prestone DOT 4 fluid. Night and day difference and better initial bite and much better high speed whoa. Feels like a big brake kit. Good enough for my needs.
Although I don't track. There are lots of good pads out there. My buddy just put on a set of new OE padlets as his were worn down on the inside on the OE original rotors and he said that overall braking was night and day. Street and highway.

I would highly recommend the Carbotech 1521 pads. The Carbotech 1521 pad is a low dust pad that is rotor friendly and performs like OEM and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels. This pad also contains NRS technology. Carbotech uses NRS technology on all C4, C5, C6 & C7 front and rear brake pads.
Here is a link to explain further what NRS technology is exactly: http://www.nrsbrakes.com

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

I decided on Carbotech 1521's. Ordered for the fronts from Adam last week... Also, replacing the rotors with new OEM's. Car had 35k miles with the original pads and rotors. Rear pads/rotors are still pretty good so I'm thinking I'll change them next winter.

I have been very happy with PosiQuiet Ceramic pads. Price is very reasonable. I currently have about 60k on my pads and they work great for a daily driver, but would not recommend them for track use.

Running regular PosiQuiets and rim is pretty dusty after a week of driving, but price and performance is really good
