Default C7 already showing seat wear with only 800 miles

Hello,

I have a c7 convertible stingrey. It has less than 800 miles and it already shows side bolster already shows wear.

Does anyone have any suggestions how to prevent that?

Over time I know it will start looking bad.

I have seen it in all the vettes over the last 20 or so years.

Thanks, in advance,

Dean

What interior do you have? I just looked carefully at my 3LT Brownstone with micro-suede inserts and see no signs of wear, except for some scuff marks on the front-left plastic corner. I just went over 5000 miles.

I don't have any visible seat wear on my C5. I use the door sill to hold myself up, while I "drop" into the seat, and then again when I move forward and then out of the seat while getting out. It is matter of maneuvering around the bolster while getting in and out. This applies to all cars. It also strengthens your left arm.

Learn how to get into the car without sliding over the bolster. It's not hard, just requires a different technique is all. Sit down from the side facing outward, then pivot your legs into the car while centered in the seat. I only rub mine gently getting in or out.
If your size prevents this then the answer is something else altogether,,

2800 miles 3LT no wear showing on mine.
I use the easy exit seat to get in and out, virtually eliminates dragging across the bolster...

If you rub your butt or leg over the side bolster getting in and out, you're going to wear it, whether its a C7, P car, F car or any car.

Yes, it all depends on how you get in and out. Just avoid the bolster when you enter and exit. You will get used to it.You have simply formed a bad habit. You need to change your habit of how you get in and out of the car. As others have said, any car will do the same thing if it has bolsters.

I've mainly seen Corvette seat wear when the driver is a big guy or they're dragging across or plopping down into the seat.

Dean, I had some ripples in one of my seats. I took it to the dealership, who replaced it under warranty.

Try a different entrance/exit position to minimize rubbing against the bolster. You can also get some slip on seat covers to help protect the factory leather.
