Default My first Vette

Summer was coming and it was time for me to get a new toy,one stipulation:it had to be a convertible. So at the end it came down to an E46 M3 or the Corvette.I have a place in my heart for both of the cars but at the end it came down to the cost of ownership. The corvette wins hands down.
My search was on for months I really wanted a yellow or red(yeah how typical) but for lack of a better word, settled for a black car.Everything was right about it,the location,6 speed, condition, miles, and price.I found a black 98 M6 with 58k miles great condition, well maintained and mostly stock minus a K and N CAI and a C6 shifter and ****.
Needles to say I am not a stock kind of guy, nothing I own is factory I love to modify and enhance my automobiles to my tastes. So the whole time I'm waiting for the previous owner to get me the title I was ordering parts online.
Thanks for reading my story here's the transformation.

How I got it

The car was very quiet I wanted it to speak to me so I put on the Borla stingers(sounds great) and changed the tailights(best cosmetic upgrade for the money IMO)

Got some LG super pro real cheap

My new pride and joy,REAL Caravaggio spoiler

The wagon wheels to me holds the C5s aggressive curves back so I had to fix that.Got some C6 wheels cheap and had them redone. They will last the summer then I will get something with a C5 offset,I don't like spacers. My car has the Eibach lowering kit but is still not the height I want so I will tinker with it some more.

great start man , looks good

Very smart choice in passing up on the bimmer, unless you enjoy dumping thousands into a car to keep it running then id keep away

Looks great. Not a vert guy, but I like it a lot!
I drove 325i's for 17 years, very nice cars. Always kinda wanted an M3 (hard top), but when I was ready for a move up, I realized it was time for a big change.

Looks alot better congrats. Much better choice of wheels over the wagon wheels, those things were the first change I made in my car.

I installed the Caravaggio rear spoiler.IMO this is the only rear spoiler that works on a C5.The wheels really look great the pics do not do justice.Next on the list is to drop the car more. The stock stance really holds the car back.

Yes, you are on your way to a fantastic looking car!! Already looks great.

I've seen some LED/Halo lights in some catalogs but not sure if they are the same, or as good, as yours. Where did you get those?

Welcome to owning an amazing car that never stops giving in the thrill category.

I hope you keep this thread going as you add upgrades. A lot of guess come on here and say I just got a vette, and now I am going to get every upgrade blah blah blah. So its good to see someone follow through, and post their progression. What performance upgrades are you going to do?
