Wow
What a difference a bath makes. How does the engine look? Is there a back story on why the car was stored/neglected for so many years? Good luck with the restoration. Jerry

Looks great. I recently finished a body-off restoration on a 1 owner 65 small block coupe and will probably be picking up another 1 owner 65 shortly but this one is a big block roadster. Enjoy the ride.

I have been working on the corvette every day and making some progress. I'll try to catch up were I'm at to Date,if I can post that many pictures. I had the frame and many other parts dipped by M.e.c chemical in Nanty Glo Pa,they did a wonderful job I painted the frame and parts with por 15.I did the transmission rebuild as well as the rear end and all the front end bushing replacement.and steering components, its starting to look like a corvette again.I also rebuilt the engine with a fresh crankshaft .010 rods and 010 main the block was bored 030 with all new pistons and bearings. The heads were done as well, with harden seats installed in exhaust valve and the intakes were done to. The engine is finished and some friend are stopping by tomorrow and hopefully we will get it on the frame. Dave
Her what it look like when I found it. I was trying to get the brakes free so it will roll
this picture is after I got it dipped and painted.with new brake hardware installed
frame and gas tank installed
front end is finished with new everything
here I am installing pistons
engine is waiting to be installed

Is the paint that good that you're not repainting it?

Hello All, The corvette body is at a Denny Messners garage he has a lift and offered to let me use it.We decided to clean the underneath of the body instead of putting the drive train in the frame. My wife, another close friend Larry Seidle, and myself went at it.We used kerosene, rags, gloves and elbow grease seems to work pretty good.We are about half way.

The paint is decent but a nice new base clear is a lot better.Going to paint after we get the underneath scrubbed up,and get the inside done. The jute mat is stuck every where that the next thing I got to tackle

Well, I totally misjudged that car when posted the picture of it half-askew in the garage-like building.
That car is looking outstanding.

Turn 12!
Awesome. I love the color and the year; the best year in my opinion.
What was the stock motor?

Hey Jack, The previous owner removed all the performance parts back in the early 70's for gas savings.I was lucky enough to find in the barn the exhaust manifolds, and the 5qt pan was still on it. The engine is date correct and I think its original. The engine was decked and the pad numbers are gone. He was honest about the sell and says that the way he bought it in 1968 with it decked. So the answer to your question is I think it was a 350hp with the 5qt oil pan
