Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ will be run-flats
Just got off the phone with Michelin customer service and they
said the new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ will be Run flats for the Z51 (that is the tire size I gave them) .
They expect production to start around March 2016.

In other words, they will come standard on the 2017s, right? If so, yay now I don't have to worry about swapping out the current stock tires for A/S's when I get my car!
EDIT: I didn't mean standard as in replace the current summer tires, I mean as in a cost free option in place of the summer tires for guys in colder areas like myself.

I doubt they will come standard from the factory. Might be an option but probably not.

Don't see Ferrari or Porsche offering "All Season" tires, accept for the Ferrari 4 wheel drive FF that is designed to go in snow! Even the two "options" are not All-Seasons, you get a choice of high performance summer Pirelli's or winter Pirelli SottoZeros!

Might be an option for 2017 as this model year might be the mid model refresh and this could be one of many changes if so.

NO, I' m not saying the Z51 or any other Corvette will come from the factory with these tires. They are just a new tire offered by Michelin that will fit our cars. There has been a lot of questions as to whether they will be Run Flats... now Michelin is saying the tire size that will fit the Z51 will be Run Flats.

There was a similar thread posted on this subject. Tadge was quoted on that thread. He pointed out the high cost of introducing a tire for such a limited customer base. While my crystal ball is in the shop for repair (safety recall to convert to shatter proof glass) IMHO, I'd bet GM is either going to offer a low cost option or make it a flat out, no cost option for either tire to make this option attractive to Michelin.

However, this new tire, the "3+", will be made in multiple tire sizes for BMW's, Audi's, and others...just so happens that they made sure to build one in C7 Corvette sizes also.

I told a Corvette sales specialist about the A/S tires a couple weeks ago and he said he'd order all their cars with them if they were an option. If possible, Chevrolet should make it an option just like it is on the Challengers. There's too much talk about it for it not to be popular in areas that get cold temps or a lot of rain.

Getting new wheels and these tires are what I've been waiting for.
Hopefully the Z51 sizes will be a priority for Production in March

In for the reduction of car performance numbers. How many feet will AS tires add to the 60-0 braking? How much will the 0-60 times increase? What will the reduction in lateral Gee's be? This is so exciting!

Good news for those that don't have A/S3 tires on their car but I just bought the old A/S3 tires last year and they only have 2000 miles on them so I will keep my air compressor,slime can and plug kit in the car for a long time.

Did they give you an idea for pricing? I suspect very high demand, so will be very interested in their pricing model.
