Larger tires on Z06?
Has anyone installed a larger tire without changing the rim size on the new Zo6 to fill in the wheel well gap? Will you have to reprogram the computer to adjust for the different size? Is there room in the front wheel well for the steering tire to turn with a larger tire. If so what size should I be looking at. I know some guys have lowered their cars to eliminate the gap but I don't want to affect the drivability of the car, it's already pretty low.

Throwing a larger sizes tire on the stock wheel will very much negatively effect its handling abilities and feel. Personally, I'd lower it on stock bolts and keep the stock m tire setup. I have a Z06 fully lowered on stock bolts and drive in and out of NYC every day without issue. Cochrane must have better roads than Manhattan.

I'm going to go with the tire sizes in mcmillion's link using the stock Z06 rims. I'd rather fill the wheelwells with a bit larger tire than having to deal with "Florida gutters" with a lowered car.

Here are a couple of pics of my Z06 with 19X12 chrome reproduction wheels with 345-30-19 drag radials. They are taller than the original combo and I am driving it daily with no problems at all.

When I swapped to Speedline wheels I put MPSS 285/35R19 in the front and 335/30R20 tires in the rear. The fronts have a diameter of 26.9" and the rears have 28". I have had them on for several months of spirited back roads daily driving and have seen no evidence of altered behavior from the car's nannies. The speedo now reads 1-2 mph slower than my Radenso (Radar Detector) GPS speed indicates, whereas with the stock run-flats it read 1-2 mph faster.

I might like a litttle wider... maybe 340-45, but not taller. Lowering on stock bolts will help to minimize the wheel gap.

Anyone know what pss (non-runflat) size will give you a little taller sidewall without sacrificing width?
What the nannies read, is the ratio between the front to rear...in order to tell if the rears are spinning faster/loosing traction.

345 nto5 in the rear and 305 invos up front on a lowered (stock bolts) Zo7, just say no to gaps and camel toes

The key to "larger" tires on stock wheels is not more width but more aspect ratio. So change from fronts at 30 to fronts at 35 and from rears at 25 to rears at 30. It gives much more tire sidewall to fill the gap and keeps you from lowering the car to fill the gap. A number of people bought the Federal tires in those aspect ratios as an experiment as they were less than $700 the set. I haven't heard any updates in those threads and I am subscribed to them so I suspect everything if good to go. So using the stock widths and sizes with 5 higher aspect ratio front and back seems a very good option so long as you like the "more tire sidewall showing" that will result. I will not go there until either my MPSS ZPs or my MPSC2s are worn out, but I will definitely try it at that time.

Shipping
Cars are left high at the factory because they are shipped via truck now because of nose damage from the train. The dealerships are supposed to lower them back down but most don't. Mine asked me if I wanted it lowered before delivery. I said yes and I have had zero issues with speed bumps or anything else for that matter.
