Default Halltech track results

I just installed the Halltech plastic intake on my 16 A8 Z06 and it picked up 1.1 tenths and 2 mph in the 1/8 mile. This was in worse weather than the stock intake runs so it probably would have picked up more in the same weather. My previous best was 7.03@101 in low 1900 DA weather. With the Halltech I ran 6.92 at 103.9 mph in 2451 DA weather. I am very pleased with the improvement. Thanks Halltech!

Were your 60' times comparable between the two runs?

The stock intake run was 1.67 60 foot and the Halltech run was 1.68 60 foot.

Nice improvement, I switched to the Halltech and felt SOTP gains. The biggest problem I have is my rear tires spin much easier. Lol....I then switched to the AFE intake, to me I could not tell any difference between the 2 CAIs. Congrats on your improvement.

Why the switch to the AFE?

Nice gains! When I had the Halltech on my first C7Z, I thought the SOTP gain was very noticeable, unfortunately I never had the chance to try it out at the track.

I'm going to route my brake duct to the air box next to see if that helps even more. I have drag radials so I don't have to worry about spinning

Nice gains and good for you...BUT, these gains mean nothing unless done on same day at same track...just my .02 woth

I've made at least 50 passes with this car and I look at DA each pass so I have a pretty good idea of what time it will run. I made multiple passes with the Halltech intake and all of them were faster than the car ran with the factory intake.

Halltech has nomex sleeve over the intake tube.

Your pessimistic .02 is over priced, the intake works. Too many out there too many dyno's as evidence. Now track proof

I have seen everyone comment on track improvements but what about use on a daily driver? What would a daily driver notice? Throttle response? MPG? Thanks for your input.

Slightly quicker throttle response.
Slightly more mpg.
Slightly better sound.
Seems to rev slightly quicker and easier.
And you possibly pick up a slight amount of boost at every point on the curve. Due to condition variables this was hard to verify repeatedly but I think its true. Even in the low rpm range I saw about .2-.3 psi increase over stock. (without the TRIC)

Most of this shows up as the car being slightly more apt to break traction on the daily commute. So in my opinion you will notice slight improvements during the daily drive.

All this being said unless you are at WOT and above 4k or so rpm the difference is very slight and could be made up by opening the throttle a little more. Lets face it the majority of the gains are in the upper rpm ranges at WOT.

You will notice nothing...nothing at all.

All this does is removes the factory air box restriction at mid to upper rpms at WOT.

Mine just went on today, I'm track testing it tonight.

I had 3 fairly clean passes my first trip out stock in +432' DA.... tonight looks like it's going to be -1000' so it could skew the results a little but...we'all see....I even added fuel to the tank to match the 3/8 level I had last time.

I just hope it busts 130.
