Default Ventilated seats

When I turn the fan on for my ventilated seats (always on high) it works maybe 10% of the time. I have a 2016 3LT competition suede seats. Has anyone else had this problem? I assume it is probably an easy fix.

Do the lights in the switch always come on?

What do you mean when you say it works 10% of the time? Do you mean the fan only turns on 1 in 10 tries?

Depends what you mean by "works!" I sound like Bill Clinton saying depend on what your definition of is is!

Lots of posts about seat vents not working but most refer to it is not cooling them off. There are several fans in the seat that blow air thru the small holes in the leather.

The passenger air first has to cool to feel anything. Then if you're wearing jeans may not feel much etc.

If you know the fans are blowing sometime and not others, different issue. Have seen posts saying it never works and some found issues with the plug. Don't recall seeing an intermittent but guess the plug could cause that as well.

Yes, the lights on the switch do light up. When the fan is on high and it is working, 1. I can hear it with the radio off, and it is very soft, but i can hear it. 2. I can feel the air blowing against my back. As i said, it may work maybe once out of about 10 times. Sometimes I turn it on and it works. If it doesn't, no matter how many times I turn it off and on, no go.

It recirculates the air in the car so if it's hot air you won't feel much cooling effect. Run the AC and cool the interior air and it will feel cooler.

Try this: When it feels like it's not working, hold a piece of Kleenex above the seat bottom and see if it flutters. I'm guessing that it will show the fan is working but that you're just not feeling it while seated.

I'm thinking you can say stop the car, open the door and put your head against the seat. Then you can zero in on where the fans are. Let's say you do this that 1/10 of a time that it works. Then, when it fails to work, try listening close to the fan again. You might find that the fan is working but you're not feeling the effect because the air being blown is not that cold.

Both the heat and cool of these seats have only a minimal effect. Now I live in LA so I have not really used the heat but the few times that I did it didn't seem to get that hot. Nor does it get that cold. I wish it were better, more pronounced, but it isn't. I guess what can you expect from $2000 seats!

This is totally true. Without AC on forget getting rid of your Swamp A$$. Blows warm air without it.

There is a youtube video showing the C6 vs C7 seats in cross section. The seats have one fan in the bottom and one in the mid-back.

I have a 2014 z51, C7 and the heated and cooled seats have never worked very well even though the dealer's service manager says everything is "working". Needs improvement.

Select bilevel on the environmental control and run your AC on max. The seat picks up air from the floor and it will be slightly cool even with the top down.

Have the same problem in our '15 2LT vette; but only on passenger side. The AC is turned on recycle and top/bottom vent and air is turned to 62. Lights for seats are on level 3. Driver side cools nicely, but passenger's side only intermittently. I believe it must be a short somewhere. Like this morning both seats cooled nicely; then after shutting the engine and restarting shortly thereafter, the driver's side cooled but the passenger's side (where I sat) had no fan movement. Have followed all the previous threats here and even cleaned the perforated seat area with powerful vac, but to no avail. Will bring this issue up when we get our next oil change.
Maybe they can figure out the problem.
Does anyone have any idea where and how we could look for a short in the system?

Funny I tried that when it was posted that the fans blew air down when I had read it was up! Could not get a tissue to move! It has been verified they do blow up but thru a baffle material.

This layer of material is what delays seat heating, IMO. Had my fans full blast today with shorts on and did not feel much, it was 98 degrees!

Believe This Is The Cause of Slow Heating

2015 Z06 and similar issues here. On my 2015 Stingray the vented seats worked very well. The new one I can feel kick on strong briefly and then pretty much fades away. Driver and passenger seem to work the same. Looking for a fix as well.

Is the recall/reprogram for '16 models only or for all C7 models? Please ask your tech and also let us know if the reprogram works.
Thanks
