No DA%# Excuses V Fall Classic At MIR
Robz and I will be hosting a rental at MIR on Friday, 11/18/16. This may be your chance to run a PB at a great facility. (Numerous records have been set!) Historically, weather is very good this time of year and the track prep is always outstanding. Rob and I will be available to assist anyone who would like some help. Details are to follow.
Cost will be directly related to head count and we will need your deposit to secure your spot.
This will be an exclusive private rental of the track having both lanes.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED
PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION FIRST. PLEASE READ DAILY FOR UPDATES.
1. To elaborate on the above, the total cost will dependent upon the amount of people. To rent both lanes exclusively, MIR charges $2,400 for up to the first 24 cars. (This was last year's pricing.) Additional cars are $100/car.
Track prep is $0.50/LF beyond the first 60'. We like to have the entire track sprayed for added safety.
For example:
10 cars = $2400 + 2{(1,320-60) x $0.50} = $3,660 or $366.00/person.
15 cars = $2400 + 2{(1,320-60) x $0.50} = $3,660 or $244.00/person.
20 cars = $2400 + 2{(1,320-60) x $0.50} = $3,660 or $183.00/person.
24 cars = $2400 + 2{(1,320-60) x $0.50} = $3,660 or $152.50/person.
30 cars = $2400 + 2{(1,320-60) x $0.50} + (30-24) x $100 = $4,260 or $142.00/person.
2. This is a DR or Slick Only event. (AWD vehicles must run 4 DRs or slicks.) NO EXCEPTIONS.
3. A $100 deposit per person is required in cash, check or PayPal. If there are associated charges with the PayPal transaction, these will be added to your total amount due.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO SEND ENOUGH MONEY TO COVER PAYPAL FEES IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO SEND AS A GIFT. Also make sure your screen name is put on your deposit as well as your name.
Deposits will be non-refundable unless cancelled by MIR due to inclement weather or we get bumped. Let me know how you wish to pay and I'll forward you my info via PM.
4. If you cannot make the event, please find someone to take your place; however, they must abide by these rules. In addition, it is at the sole discretion of robz and myself who can attend this event as a driver, spectator or a person in any other capacity. (Please see post #19 for additional info.)
5. All balances are due no later than 11/1.
6. Registration cut-off will be dictated by logistics. No warning will be given. PLEASE DO NOT PM ME LOOKING FOR A SPOT AFTER THE DEADLINE.
7. There will be a meeting and a sign-in the morning of the event. Please arrive early. Meeting is scheduled for 8:45 at my car which will be at the head of the track. (Please see post #18 for additional info.)

I would like to have a racer's meeting as early as possible that day so we can begin ASAP. I need to hand out windshield stickers in order for you to race. They are supplied by MIR and need to be placed in the center of your windshield at the top. Your number listed in post #2 will correspond to that number. Although not difficult, this is probably the most time consuming part of the whole day. It is best to arrive early. If you arrive late, you will need to track me down as I may be either prepping to race, racing or assisting others with their cars. If this is the case, I will finish that first and then assist you with your sticker. Please note that you must write your number on the passenger side window. (The passenger side of the windshield and passenger side of the rear hatch for a Vette driver is another good place in addition to the required passenger side window.) We have had many similar cars in the past and your racing number is the only way to truly identify your car.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Here is my one rant from last year and does not apply to most.
I had people who were late last year that purchased others' spots. They must know the rules. I must know that they are coming and that they have purchased that spot from the seller. Their car also must be something that is acceptable. (A particular car was what I would deem as junk showed up and jumped in line to race without checking in. This wasted a good deal of time.) Please do not sell your spot to someone that has a car like that. They will not be able to run and you will not be invited back.

Just a suggestion but to avoid problems why not set a time for the drivers/participants meeting? My "as early as possible" might be hours different from another participant's "as early as possible". Ambiguity in the rules promotes problems and hard feelings. We need neither. Thanks, Gary.
