Default Picture Request: Lowering Springs

I'm looking for some before and after pictures of those who have lowered the front with the 550lb coil springs. Post a picture and where you got them (Van Steel, VBP, cut stock, etc), and how much you had to cut off (if any). Thanks!

I ordered the VB&P 550 springs close to 5 years ago before I painted the car and they made a huge difference in the stance of the car. Took a few hours to install them and 8" rear lowering bolts.

Thanks guys! I like the look palmbeach!

Rajin - so you just cut the stock spring 1 coil? Do you have the gymkhana springs?

The front of my car is really soft so I would like to stiffen as well.

I just cut one coil off of the factory small block springs. Nothing else as of yet. However, I deleted AC and Power steering. I wanted to get the 17 inch wheels on before moving forward with anything else (like cutting additional coil).

Thanks Punisher! What tire size are you running? That seems like a lot of drop for a spring that only is supposed to lower 1". I dont think my car sits as high as yours from the start.

This is mine with a 25.5" tall tire.

Yes it did but a lot of weight was removed from the front end. I had a 3-1/2" gap between the top of the tire and the upper fender arch. Now its a bit more than an inch.

I've said it before, but I love those wheels Kubs. With the right stance, the car will look tough even before you paint it.

I did this 20 years ago, to the '79 that my wife had at the time.....VB&P 360 springs, with 1/2 coil cut.

Thanks man! I like to think it does but it's always nice to hear it from others!

OK so about an inch taller than mine. Thanks.

I ordered VBP 550lb springs and I'm going install them as is for now. Once I get the flares on and cover the front wheel a little more, I might cut half a coil or so.

Thanks everyone for the help! If others read this feel free to post pictures. Ill update when I get my springs.

Wow 1.5 coils? That seems like a lot. Did it sit super high before?

Ahh yes. That would take a bunch of weight off the nose.

With that much spring removed, and less weight up front, how noticeable was the increase in spring rate?

12" rear spring bolts? Do the bottoms scrape the pavement?
