The only thing that stops me from buying these rotors is the black paint on the hats. I wish DBA also offered silver like on my blade silver GS with silver wheels an silver calipers and silver coated rotors. On a mono color car like that black hats will stand out like a sore thumb. I like the all silver, that is how i ordered from the factory.

There are a couple of benefits that the T3 5000 rotors have over the Z51 rotors.
1.) The stock Z51 rotors were poorly designed by GM? or whomever made them. They're all left coooling vanes. To cut costs all the rotors for the Z51 are the same side. Therefore when you put the left cooling vaned rotor on the right side of the car. It doesn't cool properly. It doesn't move air in the direction it's supposed to cool it.
2.) They weigh about 2-3lbs less than the stockers. Weight is important when it comes to parts, especially parts that are going to be heated and cooled a lot. In this case we are sheding 2-3 pounds of rotational and unsprung weight. But you don't give up too much weight as thermal mass is important in a rotor.
3.) DBA T3 4000 and 5000 seriees rotors are made with a high carbon proprietary alloy called XG150. The iron used in these rotors is more durable and more resistant to shock caused from rapid heating and cooling. Rotors that aren't made with the proper materials are more susceptible to cracking and accelerated wear.
