Default Filthy Brake Dust! This Brush works GREAT

I swapped out to Carbotech pads and love em.

But, for those who don't want to, this brush works great to clean the wheel barrels.

Have it, comes in two sizes, and use it a lot... Great product.

You'll need that brush for Carbotechs too. if you want to virtually eliminate brake dust, get some PowerStop Z26's and you can give your wheel brushes away.

Switched to Carbotech 1521's as well, 2 years ago. 80% less dust and most important what is there washes off with plane soap and water. The OEM pads on my Z51 created enough dust in ~100 miles I had to clean my wheels. If I didn't it would stick and be hard to remove.
I still use these brushes to get into the interior with soap and water when i wash the car. FWIW

What kind of brushes are those?

I have one like the OP but I actually lost love for it. It's useless for cleaning the spokes of the wheel. I need a brush that's more like a wash mitt on a stick.

Wheel Woolies.....work great for the barrels. They also make an angled one for getting the back face of the spokes. I hate cleaning the wheels, but these make it easy to clean the entire wheel while on the car.

Something else that works well is a Swiffer Duster. I've used them for years and they quickly pick up the brake dust.

This is my favorite. Pricey, but it has lasted 3 years and still looks like new. No metal parts that could scratch. The angle lets you clean behind the spokes.

Autogeek (forum sponsor) carries all these brushes and more. While the SpeedMaster Brush does speckle you when you pull back, it offers a lot of value in clean barrels without removing wheels. The Wheel Woolies are also great in different sizes. I find one is perfect for lug nuts too.

These are from AutoGeek. They have a number of types. I use an old mitt first only for wheels. Then I use the brushes to get where the mitt can't reach.

I have been using the Speed Brush for several years. I wash my Vette and wheels nearly every week. And my wheels always look nice.

The Speed Brush does a very good job of cleaning the wheel barrels and parts of the brake caliper. And it saves a bunch of time.

I recommend the Speed Brush.

Problem with that brush is you get more brake specks on YOU then getting dirt off the wheels. The splatters are killers.

+1

They're good quality brushes - I have a few Daytona brand versions - but the splattering is a bit of a pita. I've moved on to microfiber style wands for wheel barrel cleaning. They don't spatter at all.

Take & put a good heavy white sock over it, take a spray bottle with a few drops of rinseless/washless with water. Spray over the brush/sock and it works great, I have been cleaning mine like that since '14 when I got the car and it doesn't take long to complete cleaning them.
