My local dealer has been great for service of both cars I didn't buy from them. That department is a separate profit center and judged for thir own performance. Had several warrenty issues with the C6 that were handled fine. Have only had to go to my local dealer once with the C7 when I got it in October 2013. That was when GM sent a notice to have my differential fluid level checked. The Service scheduler, knowing I am concerned about how my car is lifted (I brought my own jack pads) had their newly trained and certified C7 mechanic use their drive on alignment lift not one of their ~12 center post lifts. She brought me into the shop, introduced me to the C7 mechanic, who let me watch the whole procedure! The fluid level was fine. I do my own oil changes, clutch fluid changes etc.

MacMulkin/Kerbeck are always on top of the leader board year after year for a reason: They offer hassle free ordering with 0% doc fees and even help find you a courtesy dealership (Costs 300-500$ to have an out of state car delivered to your local dealership, which breaks even vs their 0$ doc fees). Once the order is sent through, you are given a tracking number and can check the status of your car any time you want. If your goal is to find cheapest pricing. This is the place to go.
Mike Furman is the nation's #1 salesman. Very knowledgeable and can guide people who might not already know exactly what they want. But as a dealership, Criswell usually cannot offer as large of a discount price wise vs the "big 2." They simply don't move enough volume to profit from such margins.
Can't go wrong with either. Personally for me, before I place an order, I make sure to do plenty of online research and then see who can give me the best price. That dealership earns my business.

Big isn't necessarily the best. Two dealers that I have dealt with for my last two C7s are Paddock in Kenmore, NY and VanBortel in Macedon, NY. Both are excellent and service is great.

Bought my '16 about a month ago from Bud's in Saint Mary's Ohio. He keeps his Corvette inside an air conditioned showroom and cleaned at some frequency. On my visit there none of the Corvettes had any dust on them. The folks were great to deal with and he had it delivered to my house. Tom Hendricks is the salesman who sells Corvettes.

Can't help you with out of state, but if that black Z06 up here fits your wants I don't think you are going to get a better deal than from Tim at Boardwalk. You are going to have to pay the Calif tax no matter where you buy it so why pay for shipping from out of state when a plane ticket up here is only about 69-79$ and you drive it home. I would have got it myself if I wanted that much HP went Grand Sport instead. Tim put in the order 19 Jul and I already have a build date 8 Aug ! Hope to have it before we go to New Orleans!!!
As far as service you will have to check around down there and get some info from others as far as where they go for service. I know of one guy ( a friend) that moved down there but comes up here for service as we have what many up here in NorCal consider THE BEST DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Abel Chev..
Hopefully I'll see you soon.

Somewhat PO'd and I had plenty of airline miles, for a free flight, so when my custom ordered C6 was produced, I just flew to Atlantic City on a Sunday and drove it back to SC. Actually cheaper than courtesy delivery for me especially with the several thousand dollar lower price than a large NC dealer offered. When I mentioned a price I had to their online sales person without mentioning where it was from, he said, we can not match Kerbeck's price!
Just reinforcing your comment, it may be useful to have them help. Kerbeck is the largest Corvette dealer for a reason! They have no doubt delt with dealers in every state.

Just get the lowest price and have a dealer near you try to match it. Good luck!

Encouraging news- thanks. That has to be the best price on a '17 GS so far. 9.5% off - how much lower can a dealer go? What kind of mark up do these cars have?

I've bought my last 2 Corvettes (2014+2016 C7s) at Phillips Chevy in Frankfort, Illinois. The salesman was Steve Sorensen. NOBODY in the Chicagoland area has cheaper prices on new Corvettes than Philliips Chevy. NOBODY is even close to them price wise. Frankfort is not exactly close to alot of the Chicagoland area but its still worth anyones while because of the low prices. Phillips Chevy is #1 in Chevy sales in the Chicagoland area and its simply because they have the lowest prices.

Being from California too, I have found it best to use one of the larger Forum sponsored dealers like:
Kerbeck...Largest Corvette dealer in the world...where I bought mine, complete paperwork done;
Criswell...Mike Furman is very knowledgeable;
Many others .... just check

Mike Furman at Criswell already reached out to me via private message - knowing that I am not going to be in the market until my new home is built (with a garage, of course) in November & that I have to wait until 2017 to buy a Corvette. He is in Gaithersburg, MD - probably 2 1/2 to 3 hours from me (Richmond, VA area).
I drive 90,000 miles a year with my job (in a company truck, of course, not my own vehicles), so I believe it will be worth it if he can get me the 'Vette I order and do it at a great savings. I have seen a lot of praise from others regarding how helpful he is/was for them.
I really love this forum!
P.S. I came here for answers and definitely got some - but now I find that I just have more questions. LOL!
