what am I doing wrong ?
I put a listing in the for sale section and haven't gotten any inquiries. It's a beautiful '12 crystal red convertible with tan interior, auto, 3LT, dual mode exhaust, and a very realistic price. I am getting up in years and thought I'd let it go. Is the market for these car just slow, or should I advertise somewhere else ? I thought I would at least get a few inquiries. Any advise welcome.

Funny how markets go. I keep an eye on different cars prices. A guy on the other side of town has had a 13 GS for sale now for over three months. Has dropped the price twice. Seems to be priced very right. I know the car could be trashed in person (I've only seen pics), or could have mechanical issues or both.
In my region there are numerous "for sales" out there. Don't know if that is a trend or an anomaly.

A listing where? I don't see it on the forum.

You posted it in the for sale section here? If so, this would be the last place I would think to look if a Corvette were in my future.

I looked for it 2 different ways and can't find it.
1. Using your profile, I looked for all threads you have started, don't see it.
2. Went to the C6 Vettes for Sale forum, couldn't find it in the last 3 days of listings.
Now I've found it. You didn't start a for sale thread, you merely posted in someone else's wanted to buy thread.
Start your own sales thread, complete with pictures and asking price. The asking price is required.

and you mentioned you were 'thinking about selling . . ."
Post your own thread starter . . .be complete in your description and post several photos of the car, interior and engine bay...and a price.
Good chance you'll get inquiries . . .

+1 for full pictures...some post 30 pictures for example.
Yes, advertise in other arenas....IMO if ad is good then buyers can't find it.
Yes, as above, your ad may need to be re-written.
FWIW price and location and mileage...that will get responses when all are good.

Forum indexing of posts and threads does that once in awhile, so we've been told.

My gut instinct is that the redesign in 2014 turned a lot of prospective buyers toward the C7 and away from the C6. It's not like there were as many built of the C6, but it's decades too early to think about buying one as an "investment"...if one ever does acquire a depreciable asset as an investment. In addition, although there are some buyers of used Vettes that want or need an automatic, most of the "want" is for a manual.
Typically, the KBB and NADA values reflect a "trailing" market value, in that the data represents what was transacted over the last quarter or so. In a rapidly declining market like the later-model C6s, you'd be wise to slot your sale price in the lower range of those suggested sale prices. Or trade it in on something that will make you and wife happy. Good luck.

Your price is close to retail, and you're not a retailer.
You need a lot of good pics.
Craigslist, cars.com, autotrader
List all the options
List/brag about all the maintenance that has been done.
Listing things is easier to read than paragraphs.

My suggestion if you are really serious about selling the car....advertise it on any/all platforms....local newspaper, Thrifty Nickel or local advertising paper, and any/all internet sources. Most people don't know anything about the forum until after they buy the car. I've had Corvettes since 1978. Not exactly sure when the forum was started, mid 90's I'm guessing, but I didn't find out about it until 2000. Your local paper would be a good starting place.

I just bought my C6 in June, so this comes from a buyers perspective. I shopped using Autotrader, Edmunds, cars.com, Ebay and I actually did look on this forum (was already a member since I was thinking about buying a C3 a few years back).
I'll tell you, it's a buyers market. There are a lot of these cars out there for sale. I immediately dismissed any ads that didn't have good, high quality pictures from all sides, the interior and engine. If you can't take good pictures, the buyer is wondering what you are hiding. I also dismissed any ads that didn't list all the options and features of the car. No mileage got an ignore. Didn't list whether manual or auto, ignored (I wasn't even going to look at an auto).
This is basic stuff. If they can't be bothered with this much, I figured the seller really didn't want to part with it.
