Default Single Turbo C6 Build | Billet S475 | E85

Gotten through quite a bit of the build so I'm posting pics now. Car is a 06 base C6 with a widebody conversion. All work is done by me.

Retains all accessories in factory location. Wanting this to be a really fast street car with all creature comforts.

Engine:
LS9 head gaskets
stock 243 heads
ljms stage 3 turbo cam
head studs
btr dual springs
melling oil pump
stock bottom end

Turbo kit:
CXracing turbo headers
Custom t4 merge pipe
Billet S475 Borg Warner T4
Twin tial 38mm wastegates
Tial 50mm bov
cxracing radiator, shroud/fan setup
cxracing 5" thick core intercooler
4" cold side piping

Fuel:
e85
holley fuel regulator
FIC 1200cc injectors
-10 an feed/return
20 gallon fuel cell
2 Boosted Solutions 340 LPH inline fuel pumps

Drivetrain/Suspension:
Stock trans/rear
Spec twin disk clutch
all new hydraulics
Koni shocks all around
lowering bolts

Misc:
widebody
carbon rear spoiler
3 gauge pod (A/F, fuel pressure, aem boost controller)

Goal is to make 800 wheel on the stock bottom end, and then maybe forge it later it on with a bigger turbo and go for 1200.

This is where I'm at right now. Turbo kit is all tacked together. Need to fab downpipe, and wastegates/bov.

Sold the red C5Z Already?
Everything looks great looking forward for the results.

Any pic of the pipe going from the turbo to the intercooler?
Downpipe in the compressor place?

Yeah, sold the C5Z. Seems like every time I get close to finishing a car a serious life event happens. But I don't foresee that with this one, hoping to keep it for a while.

I haven't figured out yet how I'm going to route turbo to intercooler charge pipe yet. And the down pipe will be coming out the passenger side bumper. Keeping AC, so there's no other option really, other than the hood - and that's obnoxious.

I believe you win the record for thickest intercooler on a C6

Cool to see another front mount single kit done in a completely different way.

My only advice would be to get rid of the square end tanks, and do 3" inlet. Other than that looking really good. Those manifolds looks awfully familiar

Why no square end tanks?

You're creating turbulence. That's why end tanks typically taper, helps smooth out the flow and directs the air to the outlet. Doesn't matter as much on the inlet side but the outlet side it does. 4" from turbo to ic also messes with velocity and adds "lag".

Yeah I just ordered 3" pipe for the turbo to intercooler. Mainly cause a 4" pipe is going to be hard to fit I think.

I wanted to have someone fab the end tanks for me, I suck at fabbing anything, and I don't have a metal brake to do it right. This will have to do for now.

I did my first set of end tanks with a vice and a mallot. Use 5052 aluminum when you do decide to make them. 6061 tends to crack when you bend it

Nice build! It will be nice to see a single turbo setup that is basically bolt on and retains AC. Wouldn't it be easier to retain the condenser if you went with a thinner core intercooler?

been thinking of doing this exact same thing to mine for a while what wires are you planning to buy and how are you going to route them to the spark plugs?
also lmk what temps you run with with their radiator and that big of an intercooler if it stays in the 190-200 or less im pulling the trigger on it lol

Having to run the exhaust out the bumper is my biggest reason for not doing a front mounted setup, otherwise I would be all for it.

Then just run it out of the hood jk I know what you mean. That's the reason why I went with the rear mount first. I basically only drive my car to race now, so I said **** it.

Shouldn't bee too bad, plus you can always add a muffler to quiet it down.

Condenser bolts on to the radiator, have no problems where it's at. You have to bend the lines a bit to get them to fit, but it's no big deal.

The guy that works for me has an LS fox with a 5" fender exit and I swear it quieter than my rear mount 76mm setup with a 5" single exhaust out back. My car drones really bad now since I haven't had time to devise a muffler setup.

What Dude said. First end tank I bent up in 6061 split. Got a bunch of 5052 for any end tank work. 3" pipe in is more than enough, and tape the tanks if possible.

Overall setup looks good.

I just got to weld my tanks on and mount it, but I'm being lazy and its too damn hot out.

Awesome build, I wish I had the fab skills to do something like this. Sub'd
