Default Just out of curiosity what are people paying for SC installs and tuning

Recently I went into a well renown shop here in Norcal for a quote. I was looking to have my brand new A&A kit along with a Alky control kit and tuning done on the car. I was providing EVERYTHING down to the plus and fluids for this install. I was quoted $3700 for labor and tuning. I did not get a breakdown but I was floored by the quote. I was thinking $2000 was more realistic. Needless to say I am about 75% down with my Alky kit and then will start the A&A install. I will still have them tune as the are the best in the business but my cheapness prevailed over my laziness LOL. I WONT post the shops name because I truly don't think they are crooks I simply think they are the best around and make that kind of money all day. I wish I would have forgone this IT industry and went into tuning lol.

I was recently quoted $1500 for a Procharger install and $625 for the tuning, which is more inline with the $2k total you had in-mind. I'll be honest though, even that seemed steep considering these kits are basically direct bolt-ons. I'm toying with the idea of recruiting a friend for the weekend instead.

i paid $1000 for install and tune of my ecs kit, another $500 for meth install. Im installing an ecs kit on my second c7 atm and honestly so far its pretty easy. I wouldnt pay someone to do it again.

did a procharger install myself. Not including the two trips to the store and the time lost on the wrong belt size, it took me 6 hours on a friday night, then about 10 hours on saturday (most of those hours being with two people). Dyno tuning was about $600 although the kit comes with a very good mail tune (as said by the dyno tuner).

I'm currently shopping myself in SoCal and AZ...that's substantially higher than anything I've seen.

$3,700 are they high?

I paid about $1,300 and that included Dr. Phil tuning it.

They said the install was about 5-6 hours and $500 for the tuning. Turned the whole thing around in 3 days. That is an ECS kit but I think they are all pretty easy to install.

Don't know the exact break down but I paid 10k out the door

ecs supercharger kit
alky control meth
arh headers
fsp catch can (just install)
putting my edge cts2 behind the radio.

Calvo motorsports did an amazing job and were the most professional easy to deal with shop. It was tuned by calibrated by karger (kager?)

Couldn't be happier with them as a shop though

That is pretty reasonable. Meth kit if $600, install for me was $1100. I was like 6,700 OTD but I also had a sound deadening kit installed and no headers/catch can.

A&A Kit: $4700
Alky Control Meth: $600
Texas Speed LT Headers: $1150
Local tune: $600

My dad and I turned the wrenches, so no cost there. About $7500 after all the extra bits and pieces were paid for.

The alky kit install will be more then you'd think because it's tedious work. Do the s/c and alky kit yourself. My buddy and I did it over a weekend on my car and before this I just did oil changes. Easy stuff

I plan on doing the install of my A&A myself after being quoted 2k for install and tune. Took the money and bought an easy lift for $1200. Now all I need is 3 days off in a row to do it, been sitting in my garage now for 4 months.

If we can work up a quote for you let us know. We offer discounts on labor if parts are purchased through us and we do price match.

$1200 total for me, $700 for install + $500 for tune. Had planned on doing install myself but couldn't fit it into my schedule prior to road trip planned with car. Down the road I'll probably install my meth kit and headers myself.

1200 total.....so u got the SC for free?

$700 install for a 15-20 hr job on a SC install. Unless you are living in a 3rd world country, the avg hr rate for most speed shops is anywhere from $90-150 a hr. Not sure where you could have got one installed for 700 unless they were charging you 30 bucks a hr.

Price it out
D1 Procharger SC, wrinkle black "extra charge", quieter blades "extra charge", big red racing blow off value "extra charge"
Kooks 1 7/8 long tube headers, coated
Kooks, Green Cat, x-pipe
Corsa Extreme Axle Back System
Z51 sway bars and shocks
AlkyControl, Single Nozzle Meth Kit

Labor, $95 a hour, plus tune.

Here let me help,

9500 for parts, 600 tune, and the rest was labor and tax. Could I have done some of it, yes, but like u, didnt have the time. I dont think I paid too much, because I shopped around for every single part with the exception of the SC.

Sorry blower was directly from Andy @ A&A. I paid under $5k shipped to my door for the V3 SI-trim kit!

I see "Bonestock" paid near what I paid for install/ tune. With the others I have talked to I didn't think my price wasn't out of ordinary. Also on Berlsx webpage list a SC install is listed for $800 with SC tuning $525 totaling $1325. http://www.berlsx.com/#!services-/q32is. Anyone from A&A or ECS will tell you it is not a 15-20 hr job. I guess it really just depends on where you live.

I have nothing against those send their car to the shop it to get it done. If you do your research on the shops in the area, you are pretty much guaranteed quality, and have a much better time getting things fixed if things go wrong.

Plus, wrenching isn't easy work. It's dirty, it's painful, you end up cussing at your car, and it requires tools that can easily make for a good portion of the pro-installation costs.

That being said, if you have the time, energy, and capability to wrench it yourself, you may find a great sense of accomplishment and pride. For me, my upgrades were a wonderful bonding experience between me and my dad, even if it did leave me sore for 3 days.
