This has probably been around here a thousand times but where is 12:00 when reinstalling the starter wires?

I have fried my starter twice and it's because the mechanic hasn't got it. This is the last time

Isn't relocating the wires a risky proposition considering the manual specifies certain order and orientation?

he just rotated wires on the same post... if you have headers the heat will cook them so he repositioned them...it's the same wires on the same terminals just moved so the heat or chance of shorting will be less likely...
