Default Reasons to buy GS or Z06

Another recent thread (how the general public views the C7) prompted me to this conclusion. After 3 years of membership here, I think that many of the people buying the Z06 and now the GS are purchasing to display at car shows which is just fine and I realize a big part of owning a Corvette (just not for me). I think that:
10% are tracking
30% street performance
60% car shows

What do you think?

GS. The wide-body look excites me, it will primarily be my daily driver. Occasional track duty, so all the Z06 bits with an NA engine in there will be great for that purpose. No, I don't do car shows (well I'll go take a look at the cars, not display mine).

Also because it's a smoking hot deal / value for money for the ~$3000 extra (once you throw in MSRC) over an equally equipped Z51.

Probably more like....

5% are tracking
80% driving(includes Cars and Coffee) with 20% of that 80% doing long distance road trips.
15% car shows

You really cannot go wrong with any Corvette. Get what you can afford and remember, there will always be another one come along that you'll want.

I know this all sounds bad. It really is all about coming to grips with my own wants. I love my car, but have had supercharged cars before so would love the Z. I am being enticed by all the excitement of the GS and HAD a deposit down.

I guess I am at the end of my thought process and will enjoy what I have. So "never mind".

That is really the question that I keep ping ponging in my head. Will I have HP envy because I choose the GS. Or do I get the Z and try to get the right color and wheels.

One of the truest statements I've read in a while.

Not saying this is a problem for everyone, but in my case the extra width of a GS means it won't fit in my "third" garage, which is a bit smaller than the other two. And the bigger spaces are taken by a full-length Silverado and a CTS VSport. It's already a squeaker for a normal-sized vette. Sucks, but I'm stuck.

Love my Z.

Went to my local dealer to order the GS in April. Couldn't bring myself to buy a car with less HP and and ended up ordering a 16 Z and trading in my 15 Z.

When does your dealership start taking deliveries of the grand sport?

I wouldn't consider a GS if I could afford the Z...Why would I? I would think that MOST guys would want the King of the Hill opposed to anything else but there are always exceptions to the rule.
For me, its the Z06 all day! I wouldn't want to be the guy who has a car that "looks" like a Z and then a real one rolls up on me. 2nd, having everybody ask me "Is THAT the Z?" would honestly **** me off. Just my 2 cents...

I wouldn't consider the Z06 now that the GS is out, and it is not a matter of money. Get the GS, send it to Katech, and have what the Z06 should have been for the same money as a new Z06.
