Default Question on mode control

On a 2016 Z06 auto, is there a way to make the Sport mode (or any mode) stay in the Sport mode after you turn the engine off or do you have to reset each time you start the engine? If you can make it stay the same each time may I ask how you do it?

FYI you can also set the sound of performance exhaust to be loud as in Sport Mode or soft as in Tour mode through Settings on the infotainment screen. The selected sound then remains set loud or soft even when you change the driving mode. Several nice u-tube vids to walk you through it if interested.

No, it will revert to tour mode then. It's designed that way for safety because if you left the car parked in track mode with all the nannies off and someone else jumped in it to drive, they could be screwed.

It should stay in S when you restart the car .Keep in mind that when you turn the ignition off, the display will show T until you open the door. When you restart it, it should still be in S.

My experience is if you turn off your car in Sports mode when you restart it it will be in Sports mode. If you turn off your car in any other mode it will be in Tour mode upon start.

It will restart and continue on with any mode except Track.

Weather mode works really good. It started raining. I put it in Weather mode and the rain stopped immediately.

The only modes that default to tour mode is Weather and Track. All other modes should stay the same.

Weather and track are considered special and shouldn't be used regularly. Key word is shouldn't

I guess this is yet another thing that has changed.

I guess I need to add the caveat to my sig line: "This apparently only applies to '05s and '14s" .
