I actually pulled them off as they were about to fall off. The black adhesive backing is still on the valve cover. Is there anything that can be used to re-adhere the emblem to the cover? It would need to be high temp. I was thinking about using high temp silicone and just sticking them back onto the black backing after I clean it up. That stuff is stuck on there very well.

Get some emblem adhesive at your local auto parts store. Just takes a very small amount.

Clean the area on your cam cover and the cam cover emblem then apply some Permatex hi temp RTV. GC

I used J-B weld hasn't come off in over a year.

I used black RTV sealent. Don't put it over the black stuff left on the cam cover.

I used high temp RTV and stuck on top of the original black foam adhesive that I cleaned with brake cleaner. So far so good!
