Corvette Grand Sport Color Scheme Takes C7 From Gorgeous to Garish
Someone has to say it. The C7 Corvette Grand Sport looks atrocious. Yes, this is going to be a rant on how Chevrolet turned the newest Corvette into a clown car.

I see tons of cars posted every year that I don't care for but I have enough respect to fellow Corvette owners not to pick on them for buying what they wanted. I'd be pretty irked if I was buying that white/red/blue car and the corvetteforum of all places is calling my car ugly on the main page. Not exactly a welcome message for new members.
The main page used to be for Corvette news. Now it's click bait.

The 2017 Grand Sport isn't even on Chevy's website to build your own yet.
Why are they so slow to update their website.
Unfortunately a valid point.

That particular combo is ridiculous.
But let's not bash every GS. I'm sure most guys will not be ordering such bad combinations
GM just made a mess of all the show cars, so customers could get an idea of all the possible combos. They never said they were good looking combos.
I know plenty of guys on here ordering a new GS that does not look anything like that.

You can order a mighty ugly z06 or Stingray too if you want to. It's certainly not exclusive to the GS. Chevy just gives you a little more rope with those.

Years ago you could order some mighty ugly Porches. Horrendous colors and poor striping to go with them....now they sell for large amounts of money. Maybe the GS will sell for $220,000 in 20 years with some of the bad combos...ya' never know.

The red, white, and blue examples are directly related to the heritage. The hash marks as well (Although I wish they were only on the one fender like the race cars used and the '96) Sometimes there is more to the story. The original color scheme that they are trying to honor literally represented the US in an international races.
Now besides the Red, White, and Blue combos... there are some good looking ones and some that are quite terrible. But to each his own.

I guess some of you would not like a 1969 GTO Judge in Orange? It has to grow you a bit, especially if it's a great car.

I'm definitely thinking of ordering one with that exact color combo.
Edit: But I'm in my 20's, maybe that has something to do with the difference in opinion.
That white with red/blue is exactly what I'm looking at getting.

I dont think its the exterior color alone. Its the combination of the exterior, interior and hash stripes that make it look like a clown car. An orange GTO Judge would be great as long as it had a matching interior like black or even white. You put blue interior in it with red Judge graphics and it becomes a clown car. But to each his/her own. If thats what you choose cool. You and only you has to like it.

I'm in my 20s as well (maybe late 20s :P) but I dislike the hash marks and stripes as well. The vents and grill and rear bumper (and in my case, the black mirrors and spoiler) provide more than enough contrast for me.
Yeah, bash the color combo all you want, but this is one badass car as you can see from the reviews.

I prefer simple color combos.

This is the first Main Page article I've read that is actually well written and has a point to it. Obviously a lot of GS's will be done tastefully, but many of those color combos must have been allowed by GM engineers with multiple pocket protectors. The really are garish--this from someone who actually likes bright colors.
