FS: '70 Convertible Pro-Touring (Ft. Worth, TX)

SOLD: '70 Convertible Pro-Touring (Ft. Worth, TX) - Price reduced to $55K
Just finished a C2 pro-touring build; so I have two and need to sell one to liberate some cash for the next build. Whichever sells first, I'll keep the other for a while. This listing is for my '70 convertible. Build was completed in early 2014, and it's got less than 900 miles on it now. The pictures below show it with a hard-top, but that's gone; car now has stay-fast canvas soft-top only. Important information:
- Body is largely stock but with very nicely done 2" flares in the back, a custom C6 script molded into the rear panel, and C6 side mirrors.
o If the rear flares look like they were made to fit perfectly around the rear tire, it's because they were.
- Emblems removed for clean appearance. (my taste...)
- Pyrite Mica paint color with satin clear coat
- Bumpers and wheels painted to match in Silver Pearl with satin clear coat
- LS6 engine with just over 40K miles; stock tune; no mods
- Custom-built aluminum radiator (biggest one I've ever seen in a Corvette) with dual electric fans. This car will not go over 190 deg, even on the hottest TX summer day with the AC on.
- Mid-length coated headers and MagnaFlow stainless exhaust (nice deep tone but not obnoxious)
- T56 6-speed manual transmission
- Super 10-bolt differential with 3.73:1 gears built by Gary Ramadei with 3" half-shafts
- VB&P Performance Plus suspension package all around (rides a little hard but handles very well)
- OEM brake rotors & calipers with Wilwood MC and Hydroboost
- 2001 C5 Z06 Alcoa forged wheels with Bridgestone Potenza tires (265 frt/295 rear)
- Power rack & pinion steering
- Vintage Air AC system
- Dakota Digital gauges (Composite gauges put the fuel, oil pressure, temp and volts all up in the main gauge pods)
- C5 sport seats with all of the electrical adjustments
- InfinityBox (formerly known as ISIS) electrical system
- All vacuum controlled features eliminated and replaced with electrical actuation
If interested, call me at 682-201-5804 to discuss. I've reduced my price to $55K on 11 January '17...I have much more than that in it.

For those not familiar with a "Super 10-bolt", it's a Corvette IRS differential with a polished case, 12-bolt spider gears and cross shaft, 31 spline stub-axles, steel cap on driver's side, a ton of machining to make it all fit and work properly, and the best of everything when it comes to the quality of the parts used. It's properly tuned using steel clutches, not the composite "snowflake" clutches and springs used at the factory to compensate for the fact that they didn't actually take the time to set it up correctly. The differential has always been the Achilles' heel of these C2/C3 Corvettes, but this one is good for 700HP and all the beatings you want to give it.

Finally got some time to get it up on the lift and get the underside all clean. Frame, trailing arms, etc. are all powder coated gloss black, and everything is rust-free. Everything underneath is well engineered and built...no disappointments.
I have a spare tire tub & hardware; just not installed in the car. I don't run a rear sway bar with the dual mount rear spring setup because this light-weight car handles just fine without it, and it rides too rough with it, but if the car buyer wants to add one, it's an easy install.

Car is registered for the Mecum auction in Dallas on Saturday, 5 November. It's lot S69, and the auction starts at 10:00am; so I think it should go across the stage around 12:15-12:30.

Price reduced from $70K to $55K for fast sale. Why??? I just bought a '63 coupe pro-touring project for that amount from a guy who started and couldn't finish. Come get a great deal on what is arguable the prettiest C3 pro-touring car you'll find.

The engine was rated from Chevy at 405 HP, but a lot of sources believe that it was closer to ~420. With a more open intake and exhaust, I think it could easily be putting out as much as 425, but without putting it on a dyno, it's all speculation. I can say that these LS6's are really fun engines to drive. They make good power throughout the whole range, but they really come alive over 4,500 RPM. I have another car with the 495HP LS3 crate engine. That one definitely makes more power, but the LS6 is still more fun to drive.

Very nice quality build. Love the color. Lotta money in that car.

Your corvette requires pictures, there aren't enough words to describe. Excellent job. Could you grant me a wish and tell me were you got the electric wiper door actuator from?
Thanks T
