I'm not familiar with Camaro 5, but do have some insight about attempts at phishing and scamming at Corvetteforum.

Several weeks ago, a phishing attempt allowed someone to hijack the user IDs of several people at Corvetteforum and, perhaps, at other sites as well.

Many of those who were tricked into providing their user IDs and passwords had their user IDs hijacked. The hijacker then began to use those accounts to further the phishing scam. In some instances, the hijacker changed the email address of the users so that any attempt to change their passwords would alert him, rather than them.

Corvetteforum discovered the ruse pretty early on and posted a global announcement cautioning users about phishing schemes and offers of deals that seemed too good to be true. We sent PMs to everybody who received a phishing message through Corvetteforum. We also helped users regain control of their user IDs.

The feedback I've gotten from site users is that nobody here has been scammed as a result of this effort.

NavyProud was one of those users whose ID was hijacked. He now has full control of his user ID at Corvetteforum and there is no indication he was involved in the phishing scheme or any scamming other than to have been one of the victims whose accounts were hijacked.
