They are a fun car to drive. Must be easy to bump up the HP.

There's a guy at my local e85 gas station that said they can take straight e85 on the factory fuel system, he had full catless downpipes and straight pipe exhaust, thing sounded wicked!! Should be a fun car.

Nothing like the sound of a turbo spooling up and the launch from awd.E-85 should bring it up close to 425whp,I have 2 stations down the street from me.

I wouldn't call it "rice", it's a pretty nice car. Love the color too!

A few months ago we bought a Subaru Outback 2.6 for my wife; traded in a Honda Pilot. The Outback is hardly a performance car, but the quality and value proposition was hard to beat.

I would try to bring this to a Corvette discussion by comparing some aspects of the Outback to my Z06....but I am having trouble finding anything in common. Well...they both have 4 wheels.......

Even if you minimize the bolt-ons and get the 375whp mostly from a large turbocharger, the stock pistons won't last at that power level for long, particularly on pump fuel. But please link me to the build thread when you pull the engine, as I loved my STI as a winter beater.

My son decided he wanted to get his own car and go road racing with my group. At the time I had an 02 Camaro with a measly 375crank hp. He got left behind so bad he insisted on bumping up the boost considerably and a few other things.

On a hot track day the ls1 let go and I ended up putting a 600hp 416 in the Camaro. The first time he came with his bumped up engine he got in my advanced run group and blew his engine on the 3rd lap. I reminded him that this was not an inexpensive sport to be participating in, especially with a young family.

He fixed it to the tune of $3500 (after spending that much to put more power in it) and came back out a few months later and dropped into the intermediate class. He was looking really good until about lap 4 and it went boom again.

His wife convinced him that their $ would be better spent on family things and the car got sold.

My garage that did the first fix told him the head bolts would not hold at that boost level and suggested he drop it about 5-6 lbs at least. He then went to a subie tuner shop who convinced him he could continue to run 18lbs with no meth and have no problems. Kaboom. They got to fix it again so he could sell it. Maybe they were counting on that? Ouch!

Great cars! Keep it under 400whp and your ringlands will be fine. . . after 400whp it's a slippery slope to 600whp. I played that game.
