WTB: '64 Convertible
Original posted looking for a '67. That's the year I was born so I thought it'd be fun to have a 'vette from that year. Looking at the C2's more closely though, I'm starting to really like the '64's. Plus, I might get a better condition car for the money I'm looking to spend. Still looking for something around $35k.
Let me know if you have any leads. Been looking at the Craigslist posting on here (thanks Revfan and Bowtyeguy!) and there is one in Milwaukee that looks pretty good to me and is close in price.
Thanks,
Patrick

I'm near Detroit. Thanks for looking for me Bowtyeguy!
I have about 10 to 15k in reserve I was planning on using over a year or so to fix up whatever I bought. Think it would be better to just use that money up front? That would bring my comfortable buying range to around 45k.

The 64s are the sweet spot as far as C2s go... You can get more for you money if you look hard enough.
Bowtyeguy has a point though...
In My Humble Opinion, if you are 50K all in, you'd be better off finding a car for $45K and had 5K in reserve, than finding a car that was $35K and needed $15K of work.
Its also my opinion, that no matter what car you buy, you will need some money to take care of all the "little" things that inevitably pop up. Usually, the more you spend up front, the fewer "little" things pop up later.
Late Summer, & Fall are a good time to buy as there are lots of folks that are finishing up "one last summer" with their car.
