Default Intake Manifold Height

How much height is available under the C6 hood for the intake manifold?

Basically, how tall is an LS2 intake when sitting on a surface from the bottom to the highest point?

What is the height on an LS3?

How much additional space do I have to work with on the C6 chassis above the factory intake LS2 or LS3?

Thank you in advance...

The problem isn't the hood but the cowl, don't know the dimensions. I put a FAST 102 on it clears but not by much.

Cowl clearance is tight, not hood. Can't really go up at all.

I know, my intake has maybe 3/8's or less clearance, check the FAST install instructions. You have to shoe horn the intake in while zip tie the back bolts up in place so they can drop down once seated since there's no way of dropping them after.

So... windshield cowl is the issue. Cant go taller due to having to be under the windshield cowl area.

It sounds like I will need to stick with the LS3 intake for my build.

Thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated!

I'm not quite sure on how much taller the cowl is on the ZR1, but it looks fairly significant.

Zr1 gives you more space but not much..

If I remember right, my intake is only 9in tall and I had to use drop mounts to fit under a zr1 hood

It will not. The main issue is the hight of the area right after the tb.

Good deal. I hopefully will be in the market for a Z06 sometime next year and a built motor will be soon after. That being said, I've been looking at your twin turbo thread. Beautiful work Dudeman.

If that's the case, then it will definitely not fit. The Holley intake is almost 12.5" from the top of the plenum to the valley cover. I Was really hoping (one day) I could get by without cutting the hood up.

The intake I posted above is 9" from bottom to top of plenum. Are the ones who have been down this path saying that you will have to modify the windshield cowl, cut the hood, or both in order to run this type intake? Just curious?

The cheap chinese junk one that flexes under boost and loses 30-50rwhp? Yah, sounds like a great idea.

Stock has made well over 1400rwhp. No reason to mess with it iMO.

Which one, the Holley or the Sharp Customs? I wouldn't expect a hunk of **** from Holley.

Holley works great, and when you get to the upper power levels cutting a cowl is no big deal. I just don't get all the people with <1000hp wanting to throw intakes on.

Maybe not, but you really can't argue that the Hiram intake just makes it look that much more badass... In my opinion.
