Default WTB: C4, Auto, 13K, NEPA

Hello CF!

I am an educated and serious buyer in NEPA with 13k cash.
I have reasonable expectations in regards to mileage and condition.

Looking to buy a C4, Automatic.
I am open minded RE: Body style and color and am more concerned with the quality of the vehicle and how well it was maintained.

Will travel up to 200mi from Scranton, PA to meet seller.

I am actively seeking a car and plan on buying by the end of August.

$13k is my Budget and I cannot go over.

Thanks for you consideration and I hope to deal with you soon!

As a New Forum member- may I make an observation?

There are a LOT of ads without location listed. Let alone in the Header.....man it makes it hard to find a car in your area!

You are close enough, go to Carlisle and spend the day among 5000 Corvettes. That's a pretty good place to start.

For 13,000 you can be very picky and get the car you want, show room quality c4's go for 13,000 or that's starting prices for some Zr1's. Goodluck with purchase!

For only a tiny bit more my 10800 mile car is for sale. I am looking at a different car in DC to buy, so delivery could be arranged!

Default Thanks Guys

I know for UP TO 13k I should be able to get a sweet C4.

I don't want to drive over 200 miles to get one as there are a lot around.

I found the forum to be frustrating as many sellers do not state their local.

Hoping to find a sweet premium c4 right here in NEPA!

Do you care if it is an L98 or LT1?

I would consider both but prefer the LT.

I'm looking at a 1990 with 63,000 on Tuesday.
Targa, black, stock.
Int 8/10, ext 8/10

What should I offer- I have an idea but looking for opinions.

Thanks!

If you could take some pictures that'd give us a better idea. You can also post a thread of that in general discussion asking if the car is worth it and you'd get a lot more reply's and honest opinions. Where I live in connecticut a car like that from how you've worded it goes from 7-10k depending on the car, not sure what he's asking. Most of the people selling corvettes either paid to much for theres and expect to get that back or think their cars worth a small fortune when in reality they're asking way to much for the car.

I'm biased towards the 1993 - 1996 model years so take this with a grain of salt.

L98 motor; I'd rather have LT1 although there's no Optispark to worry about.
No Airbags; that's a biggie for me.
A/C is the old R12. Unless it was upgraded, you're SOL if/when it needs service.
Trans; is it manual or auto?
Suspension: Does it use normal shocks or the F45 style with the ridiculou$ replacement part$?
Interior; is it the video game style or the newer DIC style? I personally like the newer style.
Seats; Leather or Cloth?
Convertible vs. Coupe? I stay away from C4 Verts.

If I was looking to buy, I'd be a player at $6.5K As implied in an earlier post, there are a lot of folks who believe they're selling you a new Ferrari, when in fact, its a 25+ year old car.

hi cave. I live in Jacksonville, fl and I have one that I am trying to sell or trade for a motorhome. it is maroon in color, (my favorite, btw,) with 41,000 miles. I am the 4th owner and have had her a little less than a year. the three previous owners, all men kept her garaged from what I was told and trust me, she shows it. I don't even want to sell her since I have always dreamed of owning a corvette, but I am in desperate need of a good running used class c motorhome. I am asking $12,000 OBO but I need to sell her no later than sep. 2nd. if you are interested, please feel free to call me at 904-400-0114 and I can text you some pics of her. she really is a beauty for her age, and I always get complements on her. thanks for reading, benita

The price is high in my opinion, but dealers typically are. I purchased my '92 coupe with 6 speed with 41K miles for $10K and the car was well taken care of.

Don't rule out cars that are not local, many times a forum member near by will be willing to check it out and give you a third party opinion by phone or e-mail. If the car still seems worthwhile and is under budget, buy a plane ticket, do your own test drive then cruise home to PA, just a suggestion.
