Battery Tender - for C7
I have searched and read about the different Battery Tenders but have a different question
I had a battery tender for my C6 that I connected to the battery worked great
I want to use it on my C7 is there a location under the hood to connect the battery tender vs the back?
someone shared a location under the hood on a previous post could not locate what they showed.

You can just use the alligator clips on the battery terminals in the back. It works fine. I did that before I found a 12v adaptor to plug into the trunk port just above the battery compartment. The latter is the preferred solution.

Here ya go: http://www.ls2.com/forums/showthread...hlight=battery
Look at the fuse box in the engine bay. Look at the firewall end. Under the plastic cover is a post that you can use for the positive side of the battery maintainer. There is also a ground post on the passenger fender. That thread shows both.

I have the Ctek 3300 I used on my C6 with the alligator clips. Can't remember where I saw them but thought you can buy just the 12v adaptor plug. Anyone have that info?

I set up my Battery Tender with a Cigarette Lighter Adapter and plug it into the 12Volt port inside the right rear of the hatch. That's the port that Chevrolet setup to be used for battery maintainers.

Pic below is what I made from my "stash of old electrical parts" that works in the rear using alligator clips from my charger.
Made this assembly from my "stash of old electrical parts!" Only used the 2 amp max setting on my charger.

You can also buy a cig lighter adapter off Ebay for about 6 bucks. Worked just fine for me.

Here is my favorite. Connects to the always hot 12 volt jack in the back via a short adapter. Nice firm plug connections.
AND, most important, a reminder to leave on the windshield!

You don't really need one, unless your car is idle for more than a month or so, but the more often a battery is discharged the shorter it's life-span. A maintainer is just a very cheap way to keep batteries healthy for max life.

Battery Post
I have always kept Battery tenders on the post of my battery
in the rear. My 2015 wouldn’t crank. I have a convertible so the trunk was open already. The cord to pull to open the door
made the door **** halfway open. I called roadside assistance and he told me he had not been long a man called him with the same problem. When they got there I was able to
pull the cord right and hold it while the other man touched the door and it opened. Wouldn’t crank. He showed me 2 negative post on my battery. I have always been able to do this. Anyway, I had the clamp on the wrong one all this time. I had it on the one closest to the positive. He showed me farther away from the first post , closet to the side of the car. He told me to put it anywhere on the post or a silver part. I never even noticed another post. It is now charging my car. Who would have ever thought 2 negative post. And farther away from the one probably everybody tried to use. Why is such a thing like that on a battery? I was embarrassed but at least another man had the same problem.

I purchased the GM “ Corvette” branded charger from my local Chevy dealer when I ordered my 2016 C7. It plugs into the cig port in the back of the car and has not failed me in 4 years. Simple too. Orange light means charging. Green means maintaining, power light means 110.
Pricey for a tender but compared to a new battery.... If you ask you local chevy dealer for a discount, they will usually do something. If I remember correctly, I received 20%.
Or or there is always Amazon.

I have an interstate battery charger / tender that comes with gator clips, eyelets, and a cigarette light plugin. Well under half the price for the corvette charger. Works good for me.
