Default Climate Control Question

My 2000 Camry blower fan turned out to be a home for a field mouse and his nesting material . I took apart the area and fan and cleaned it out as the blower fan smelled funky and didn't work right.

I read somewhere to leave the car's the "Recirc" setting ON right before you park and turn the car off. This closes access to the varmin.

I've had many similar problems with my 1986 Vette convertible. My question is; is there a similar setting my '86 has to block their entry in a similar fashion.

I also have a 1996 Corvette Coupe. Both cars have AC but the 86 does NOT have the digital climate control I think Ive seen...

Any ideas?
Thanks Steve

If you set the HVAC to MAX on the C60 manual HVAC system or AUTO on the C68 digital HVAC system it will close the "outside air" door. I don't know if they will stay closed without vacuum.

Don't you have screens over the inlets?

At the bottom of your windshield is an area called the "Cowl deck" you need to open the hood in order to see this.. on top of the cowl is an factory screen installed from the factory. This should keep large debri (and mice) from entering the HVAC system..

So you mean where the wipers park?

I see the mouse somehow came inside and exited the heater duct, he left a trail from the passenger footwell to the duct.

Ya the screen is were the wipers park, but you brought up a good point, if the mice get inside of the car they can enter the ducting quite easily..
