Delivery Post Stingrays/Z06s Aug 27th along w/Carlisle Corvette pics*Mike@Criswell
~Fun, that is what Corvette ownership should be. From moment one of searching for the right vehicle.... to taking a Sunday cruise or joining a Corvette Club. Enjoy the people that come in to your life when being a Corvette enthusiast. I've watched over the years different groups get together and do a wide array of Corvette related events and the one constant is that they are always smiling and enjoying each others company. This week of delivery's was cut short as I attended the Corvettes at Carlisle event in Carlisle, PA as I have done every year since 1978. 100 acres of nothing but Corvettes (5,000 of them), Corvette parts, literature, memorabilia and Food. Lance Miller and his Team out do themselves year after year. I was there three days and it felt like it lasted three minutes. I posted some video's and pictures on my CorvetteFurman Facebook page and will also post them here.
~Ben from Herndon, VA took delivery of his Callaway 757HP Z06 from the Callaway Tent on the Midway yesterday. Chris Chessnoe, Mike Zoner and I presented the keys of a One of One edition, 2016 Z06 in Admiral Blue with Twilight Blue interior and it is Seriously Fast. This is the 2nd Callaway Corvette ben has purchased from me. Lance Miller even stopped by to wish Ben well.
~David R from Amherst, NY called me up a few weeks ago and picked out a 2016 Laguna Blue Stingray. I gave him a sight unseen appraisal for his C6 and we did the whole deal by Fed Ex. Plycon Trucking brought his Corvette down to Criswell and also brought his new Corvette to his driveway.
~Dan J of Warner Robbins, Georgia called me last week and picked out a used 2015 Laguna Blue Z06 and after we Fed Ex'd the paperwork then Plycon trucking brought it down to GA. One of the several getting shipped out this past week.
~Darrel N of Spokane, WA called me 8 weeks ago and said he would be visiting the East Coast for the very first time the 3rd week of August. He inquired if I would have a Watkins Glen Gray 2LT Grand Sport Cpe in stock. I asked him for his specifics and I ordered the exact Corvette GS he was seeking so it would be in our inventory upon his arrival. This past Wednesday he drove home 3,000 miles in the very Corvette I ordered for him to see! Darrel's first Corvette/
~Thomas P from Ellicott City, MD called me last week looking to trade in his 2015 Corvette for a 2016 Corvette...he chose Torch red this time as I had exactly what he was seeking in stock.
~Jeremy W of Cache, OK and I first met at the Corvette Bash a couple years ago. I was honored when he called me this Summer to order his brand new Admiral Blue 2017 Grand Sport. Jeremy does some great Corvette reporting and stories and knows everyone so he could have placed his order any where as he is taking Corvette Museum delivery. Last Wednesday he watched his beauty get built along with John E from Dallas, OR. Then Jeremy flew in to attend the Carlisle Corvette event with another Corvette customer of mine, Kirby M from Richmond, VA so we had dinner and cleaned Kirby's Z06 and mine.
Kirby and Jeremy
Driving to the car wash...
~Michael and Lisa C from Boca raton, FL had ordered from me a fully loaded Z06 Convt to be specially prepared by Callaway but I had never seen their Corvette because they took Museum Delivery in KY. They drove it to Carlisle for the event and what a special Car it is!!
~Once I got to Carlisle I had little time to walk the 14 miles of paths that intertwine all the vendors and Corvettes as I was displaying my Z06 at the Spring Mountain Race Track tent. But here are some pics from the past three days.
Corvette Product & Marketing Manager Harlan Charles and I.
Race Car Driver Jeff Nowicki
~Corvette Plant Manager Kai Spande and I discussing the 2017 Z06. The Corvette plant is in great hands with this man.
Josh from Mershon's admiring my plate...
...as did Adam from Adam's Polishes...
Great friends and customers of mine stopped by...Night Race Rick and his lovely wife...NILAND, Barb.
and some fans...Marty and Mary.
If you haven't seen the new color for 2017, Black Rose Metallic....
~My pass on the Midway courtesy of Spring Mountain Race Track...Thanks Todd.
Being interviewed by Keith the Corvette blogger...
Just hanging out....
~Ivar H from Norway sent me a pic of his award winning C7R...
Last Tuesday eve The Oriole Bird recognized me as he is a Corvette Fan of the Forums...
Have a great Sunday drive!

Thanks for the pics and story Mike. As always great to hear about all of these vette enthusiasts enjoying their prchases. How lucky all of us are to be afforded such joy. Nice meeting you yesterday, as busy as you were you found 5 minutes to show me your Z06 (1 of 1!) And pose for a picture.
See you next year (or maybe sooner if I can figure out what to get before then lol).

As always Mike, thank you so much for taking the time to share your pictures and experiences.
This quote really sums it all up -
"Fun, that is what Corvette ownership should be. From moment one of searching for the right vehicle.... to taking a Sunday cruise or joining a Corvette Club. Enjoy the people that come in to your life when being a Corvette enthusiast."
It's something we should all keep in mind as we read and respond to posts on this forum. Respect others and their personal tastes, as well as embrace the diversity of choices Corvette provides.
In the end, it's not about the cars, it's about the people.

Corvettes at Carlisle definitely dodged a bullet, weather wise!
Would really like to see any pictures you have in your early days at Carlisle. Going from dirt to pavement was a huge improvement for that venue.
2 more years and you will hit the unimaginable number of 40 consecutive visits to Corvettes at Carlisle.
Great pictures of you with Corvettes at Carlisle owner/organizer Lance Miller.
You looked very content sitting in those C2's...... hmmmmm, perhaps a harbinger of things to come?!
With the current hurricane and wind driven rain hammering the East Coast, this famous quote came to mind...... "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays Furman from the swift completion of his appointed rounds".

1982 was year #1 for Corvettes@Carlisle. Before then, and currently, there were/are Fall and Spring Carlisle events. Those events are bigger yet bc they are all inclusive.
Some oldies pic of pic

Mike:
Thanks for the quick response...... as usual.
I stand corrected...... you began selling Corvettes in 1978, and began your Carlisle visits in 1982.
Great historical pictures from your early days at Carlisle. Lots of money sitting on the grass there, in today's dollars.
Was the last picture of the black/silver with red interior C1 yours?
Thanks for the quick response...... as usual.
