C2 radio repair
I can't seem to find any current info on anyone using WonderBarMan for service. Long conversation with him today..a bit eccentric but hey, who am I to judge? I just want the friggin' radio done right! Anybody use him? Thanks

Didn't use him but have heard he's quite good. There are more than a few eccentric restorers in this business and I could name 1/2 dozen right now but will refrain. At some point I think working day and night on 50+ year old car components is detrimental to mental health
The restorer that most prefer is retiring (or so I've heard) so I had Gary Tayman out of Florida gut my original '63 radio and convert it to solid state and bluetooth. It passed regional judging with no deductions...google him if you like

If you decide to rebuild the radio to stock specifications, don't expect great FM performance unless you live really close to the station. Old technology is no comparison to the latest and greatest as I learned the hard way.
But, R66 is a rag top, and radio quality is not a problem. My wife makes more noise than the radio or the exhaust.

Saw this guy at Carlisle. They sell new modern lookalike radios along with restoration and modern component installation including aux, Bluetooth and USB.

I've had quite a few radios rebuilt by Robert at Precision Stereo Repair in New Hartfotd NY. Turn around has always been quick and his prices are reasonable. He also re-cones original speakers, and can bump up the output of stock radios.

Retro Radio Restoration mentioned above, were directly across the aisle from me at Carlisle. I'm not familiar with them, and I never got to talk to them, but they're radios sounded pretty good when they turned the volume up.

Robert has worked on my wonderbar including putting a I-pod input into the original system. I have known Robert for 10 years or more great guy and really knows his way around a wonderbar.

This is a very old post but if you search Tayman Electrical you should be able to find him. He has a current Facebook site. It says that his phone number was updated recently to (941) 371-8924. His website is garytayman.com.

I used Gary Tayman to convert my original '40 Ford woody radio. He did a great job. My stock '63 Corvette AM/FM radio was repaired by a local guy in San Diego called Radioman. No need to convert, just changed the FM IF/RF transistor. I am told these original transistors are hard to find because they don't make them anymore.

I just had my 64 radio refurbished and sound enhanced by, Robert Pacini at Precision Stereo Repair 6475 Stage Rd Utica NY 13502 315-797-5219. He has been doing them for years and offers several upgrades. He just told me he is through with Ford radios because they split up the mainboard into several sections to make it small but it is terrible to work on. He charges $150 for rebuild and $50 for each upgrade. I chose sound enhancement that makes it really come alive.
