Default Offer from chevy dealer on my ce gs

So I went to the chevy dealer to check out a price for a battery for my car and the used car manager offered me $42,000.00 for my car. Tried to talk me into a new one but said I wasn't interested. So he asked if I would sell it outright for a decent price. That's the figure he came out with. Contemplating selling it to him because I can't keep cleaning the damn car every time I drive it. As I explained once before, I have the damn spinal stenosis that does me in. 3lt A6 with just around 5300 miles on the clock and a clear bra on the whole front half way up the hood. Car retailed at $72,400. new. So I have to ask, good price or not?

OK price from a dealer, not for market value. Better off to sell it yourself, if you decide to do it.

Just off the cuff, sounds pretty reasonable to me. Depends on what model year to a great extent though. Does ce mean Centennial Edition ... 2013?

I think that's a really good price from a dealer.

*Especially* if that is their "cash buy" offer, and not a trade-in value.

That is not a good price from a dealer, that is an excellent price from a dealer!

Ask for another $1500. $42k is a fair offer.

Or list it yourself for $45k and deal with that whole mess.

He must already have a buyer if he's offering you that much from the start.

Possibility since he has all new vettes on the lot. I can't remember the last time they had a GS on their lot for sale.

How much aggravation and time do you want to spend selling it yourself? My big fear is having to let someone drive it into a tree! Many potential buyers think they have the right to abuse the car.

Why Billy ?? You gonna get another car, not a Mustang I hope
Well if you do then good luck to you but I wouldn't dump it.
I was very surprised at the prices of the CE over a similar Vette and they are far and few in between aren't they.
Anyways do what you think is right. I hear you about your back, had 4 surgeries on my lower back, and happy to be walking at this point but sciatic pain is bad

I recently bought a 13 GS with 10k on it for 42 grand so I'd say 42 grand for your car is a pretty good number cosidering it's a 12...and I only say this because it's a CE.Otherwise, high 30's. Keep in mind,c7's are starting to come down into the high 40's and 50 something for used depending on year and miles....and that new GS will certainly get people out here trading in c6 GS's...

All depends on which part of the country and what time of year.
