Automatic window up when door closes

Automatic window up when door closes
Mybattery died. After changing battery, when I open and close the door, the window goes down slightly like it is supposed to but doesn't go back up. Any ideas?

Hold the window up button for a couple of seconds, release it and hold it again for a couple of seconds. It is called window indexing. You will have to do it any time the battery in disconnected

You have to re-index them. I think you hold the window button up for 3-4 seconds, release, and then repeat the 3-4 second hold up.

Page 2-18 of your 2009 owner's manual.
Both windows will need to be re-indexed every time the car battery is disconnected, then reconnected.
Window Indexing
This feature automatically lowers the window a small
amount when the door is opened. When the door is
closed, the window will raise to its full up position. If either
window does not index properly, it could be due to loss of
power. Before returning to your dealer/retailer for service,
perform the power window initialize procedure.
Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement,
the window index-up feature will not function until
the system is initialized.
Once power is restored:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window and hold the switch up for
three seconds after the window is closed.
3. Release the switch, then hold the switch up again
for three seconds and release.

In the 2006 owner's manual, it's on page 2-18 and it's called power window initialize or resetting the window indexing.
Power Window Initialize
After a power reconnect such as battery replacement, the
window index-up feature will not function until the system
is initialized. Once power is restored, do the following:
1. Close the door.
2. Raise the window by pulling up the switch.
3. Hold the up switch for three seconds after the
window is closed. Release the switch.
4. Hold the up switch again for three seconds and
release.

No help
Posts like this do not help anyone!
FYI; I did read the manual cover to cover prior to this problem, and that didn't help! You really ought to check whether a person has read the manual before spouting off.
I read about "indexing the power windows", but I had no clue what that meant. I've been around cars all my life and I've never heard of such a thing.
I guess it was fortunate that someone a bit more understanding than you read my post first and explained it to me or I would still would not know what was wrong.
This is my first corvette, and this must be something exclusive to corvettes.
Thank you for zero help.

This Internet forum is a place where people gather for discussion, views and sometimes questions on a subject common amongst us, the Chevrolet Corvette.
Your response to a question asked by a junior member with 10 months on the forum was degrading and uncalled for.
We may agree or disagree on things but at least be respectful in our responses
IMO,and I hope others will agree that you owe this member an apology
