Inexcusable that replacement tops are discontinued
I bought my Corvette last October, and I currently can't buy a replacement top for it because GM discontinued it, is having production issues, or something else that they won't tell us. Point is, they discontinued the transparent tops, and they are no longer available and haven't been for months now.
Has anyone heard ANYTHING about this? What the heck is going on?
I find it totally unacceptable that my Corvette, purchased new about 9 months ago, is basically undrivable because it has no roof and GM stopped manufacturing roofs for it. This model is still in production, and GM is shipping new cars with roofs. How can you possibly not have replacements available for months at a time???
I'm not sure I'll buy another GM product after this. I've never paid this kind of money for a vehicle only to find out that replacement parts have been discontinued, while those parts are still shipping on new cars. GM does not care about its customers. They want your money and they don't care if their product works or not, or whether it is actually usable. They ship the parts to new buyers because they only care about the new dollar, not supporting the existing customer base. I was looking at GrandSports and Z06's because I wanted to upgrade, but I doubt I'm going to do that now. I don't trust GM, not after seeing them completely ignore Z06 overheating issues, and have multiple production issues with parts. Not acceptable for anyone selling a car in this price bracket.

^^^^ Yea, and this "tough crowd" stuff will STOP RIGHT NOW.
It is ridiculous to get on this Forum and read the crap grown men write and the names that are called to each other.
I have erased the filth. The next person I catch calling another Forum member a derogatory name gets an early Fall vacation.

Stand off the ledge... The Transparant tops are available from several vendors. Try Cultrag (site vendor). I believe that they had one listed on eBay for $1,000.
Here's the listing that I saw:

CULTRAG uses that as a placeholder when they don't have any, it keeps the listing active. I would contact them, or subchev (trunkmonkey) another forum vendor to see what they can do for you.

Because you should have to buy parts for a brand new car off of ebay.
Have to agree with the sentiment though, more than I can ever remember GM is making it very obvious that they really couldn't care less about customers once you've bought the car.
Did you look to see if there was an alternate/new part number for the same thing? Things like that have happened before where numbers change without really telling anyone.

So is GM accepting orders for the dual roof option on new 2017s?

As I recall, there was a change made to the roof and the older roof is no longer available. The new version should work just fine.
Suggest you stop ranting and get on the phone and actually have a pleasant discussion with either Cultrag or Trunk Monkey - both forum parts suppliers.
Curious minds want to know why you need a replacement top after only 9 months.
