Stock Z06 wins Nola m/sports Ultimate Street Car Challenge
I witnessed this bone stock Z06 (not 07) A8 lay down second fastest time on Road course, fastest time on power stop segment, and third fastest in auto cross. Chad Langley from Longview Texas ran his first ever event like this and ended up with first overall among an amazing field of serious prepped cars. Only mod was 19" Kuhmos all around. Congrats

The Design and Engineering thing is subjective as hell. They should drop that from their judging. How do two different 2015 Z06s get two different design and engineering scores? Do they get that score before or after they actually run the event?

I damn-near went to NOLA to run last weekend as there was a high likelihood of getting a vegas invite with both Kepler and Hobaugh already having theirs.. I checked the weather about 50 times Friday debating it but ultimately decided against the risk of playing in the water.
Congrats to Chad on narrowly beating the GTR! Hope he takes it to Vegas for the invitational!

Chad had a raw score of 68.9997
David had a raw score of 63.333
A difference of 5.6667 raw points but 14 points in actual ranking of 66 to 80. The difference in winning the class and coming in 3rd or 4th....
It is all very subjective which is why I think it is so controversial

It is a 200TW tire and as such, is legal for competition.

Congrats to the owner of the car. Looks like fun.

He drove around the overheating issue by laying down his best times within the first 3-4 laps. It's a timed even, not a race.

Congrats to Chad on the win and invite to OUSCI. I've raced against his brother and those Langley boys can wheel a car, especially on the auto cross track.
They are legal for use in Optima and a few other events... Ask me how I know.
We all have to "get it done" in 2-3 laps at these events. Even in the expert group, you start encountering lapped traffic after only a couple laps and driving these cars 100% on 200 tw tires will over heat them quickly. I try to always get in the front, set a good lap time right off the bat in first session and then stay gridded in the front position.
