Default Torque Converter

Looking for the best stall converter for my '95 Corvette for drag racing without losing any drive ability. Mods are as follows: Dana 44 with 3:54 gears, 4L60E trans with B&M shift improver, 1.6 roller rockers, BBK 58mm throttle body, Odyssey lightweight battery, Killebrew bars, open air box with K&N filter, aftermarket fuel injectors, LT4 knock sensor, QA1 18 adjustable shocks front and back, tune, Magnaflow cat back exhaust with factory cats, 43k miles.
Wednesday night at Etown it went a best of 13.35 @ 104 with a 1.92 sixty foot on a 275-40-17 Nitto NT05R drag radial with a full tank of gas. Temps were around 72 degrees. Car scaled 3620 lbs. with me in it. Thanks, Bob.

Just call any good converter place, one that deals with your car type is usually best. Think a lot of corvette/700r4 guys like the vigilante converters, still call n get one made for YOUR car.

I would recommend Circle D. I've had a 2600, and a 3200 with lockup and loved them. I plan on installing the 3200 in my DD C4 as soon I as I rebuild the trans.

Vigilante is better since you have a "Free Restall" within a couple years. So if it breaks, they will cut it apart, clean and put it back together. That also means if you don't like the recommended stall, they can restall it for free.

I agree with Boot and Akim. I have been running Vigilante converters for decades. I have a spare in case the main one blows. Full throttle 5 disk lockup every run. Never had a problem.

I run a Vigilante 2400, though I can't say I'm in love with it around town it does the job in a straight line.

No one that I know dyno tunes LT-1's anymore. If it was an LS based engine there would be no problem dyno tuning it. You can always try a mail order tune using PCMforless or Frost or one of the other internet mail order tuners.
