Y're ALL OVER THE PLACE.
Walked into the King's Mountain, NC. VFW asked 'Who's Vette is that outside?'.... Guy turns around, "Art, took you long enough to get here." or something to that effect. A Corvette Forum member who's seen my posts about MOVING.
See photos.
Drove the Vette to N.C. last week and put it in storage.
Currently ""PACKING"".....
This is going to be HUGE...

Oh, it gets BETTER!!! I'm doing ALL OF THIS ALONE... BY MYSELF.... Those tool boxes were fun. a Large Long Pipe as LEVERAGE to get them over the threshold of the shed. Thank GAWD I thought ahead over the years and Lubricated those wheels. They rolled nicely once out. Just discovered I must have left the attachment cable for my OTC EVO SCANNER in the Vette. I have the scanner, no cable. The woman just left in a HUFF because I couldn't scan her Ford Escape. Tough *******, Babe!

Now, imagine, that I'm the middle kid of 7 kids, and I'm 67. My brother I was living here with is 70. Two younger siblings are very close in age, and girls.
All younger 'off-shoots' are too far away to be of assistance.
So, I'm 'Staging' everything in that tent to be sure it'll all fit.
Currently looking like a 26 foot truck with a big trailer, then Amtrak back up for the Toyota.
This is all brought about "SUDDENLY", because, while I was at Corvettes at Carlisle, the older brother "AGAIN" almost set the house on fire.... YUP YUP YUP... Third time's a charm. And that was it. Only thing that saved the house was young couple staying with us walked in and saved the kitchen. He put something to cook on the stove and FORGOT and WENT OUT....
Family decided to get him into assisted living... "FLORIDA" Where he is currently.
I, on the other hand, have EVERYTHING to move.
A house full of furniture, TOOLS UP THE GAZZOO, Corvette parts, and more.

The Move
Had a GREAT DRIVE / CRUISE from Boston to Shelby, NC. Three stops. DC, Quantico, and a short meet and greet with a buddy of mine still living in Northern VA. Then it was "House Hunting" Looking FAR AND WIDE.... Went to Anderson, S.C. to see some Corvette Nation peeps, and we drove around that area, first in his C6, then in my C5.
Then 'Just Because', I added Georgia to my list of "Adventure States".
Wish me luck.

We're the same age, so I can certainly appreciate the enormity of this undertaking! Also, being retired USAF, I moved 10 times in my 22 year career, but never without professional help. You, Sir, have my utmost respect. Best wishes for a successful move.

Art, I have a few years on you,(I'LL be 78 in January) but you and I have something in common.
We are as independent as hell.
What you are doing in regard to your move is astonishing for an elderly person.
Moving all that heavy stuff with nothing more than brainpower to assist you.
We old timers always figure out ways to get things done.
I remember a couple of years ago(just a youngster at 76) I had to rebuild my rear deck which was no easy task.
It involved moving the jacuzzi fifteen feet from it's earlier location.
The tub was nothing, but the cement slab it rested on was four foot square, and 8" thick.
Must have weighed somewhere around 800 Lbs.
I moved it alone with the help of steel pipes.
Took about an hour, but I did it.
Presently I am adding on to the deck so my Shepherd will have a ramp, instead of steps to climb.
He likes looking out to the front yard and street so he can keep an eye on who comes into the yard.
I figured I'D make it better for him by giving him a new section of the deck so he can lay out and enjoy his new view.
I have always done stuff on my own, and I owe that too just being stubborn.
I prefer to do stuff myself.
Working on all my vehicles over the years, and the Corvette included is something I have always done, and will continue to do until it is time to hang it up.
When I look at the pics you posted, I tell myself, yep, that's exactly how I would have done it.
I have no doubt your move will go exactly as you have planned.
I don't feel the need to wish you good luck.
Obviously at 67, you already have that.
Bob.
