Default Wilwood Brakes, who has them?

Good morning to all! Is there anyone sporting the Wilwood Aero6 front brakes and FNSL4 rear brakes on their C6? I've seen plenty examples of people upgrading from base brakes to z06 brakes. Can't find much of anything else. Is it safe for me to assume most base owners are satisfied with their cars looking like it skipped leg day at the gym?

Bigger brake doesnt increase braking distance. After the initial bite, its up to the tires. Stock brakes are more than adequate for street driving. With that said, i have run wilwood in the pass and theyre good brake for the money.

I could care less about performance of the brakes. Well all know they stop the car just fine and that tires play a major role in bringing the car to a stop. I figured my last line would give a hint that i think the brakes look weak. I just wanna know if anyone has upgraded and they have pictures...

Then buy smaller wheels and get more benefits than upgrading the brakes only to hurt performance.

Drag set up looks better than oversized bling bling brakes.

Considering some wilwood kit uses the same oem rotors i dont see how it would help with the "skip leg day" look....

Switching to expensive Wildwood brake set up because your factory brakes look too small? Looks like your a prime candidate for caliper covers.

Don't see any reason to judge why someone wants something...so what? If we said that about every part for these cars nobody would be here as a vendor. If he wants something because it makes him happy...let it go; it's not your money.

The Aero6 and FNSL4 Caliper Kits use stock (or alternate brand oe size C6 rotors) TCE offers this rear kit also for use of the Z06 rotors including the 13.4" rears. All that can be had for as little as $1600+

Moving to full 2pc hats and rotors will lower the overall and rotational mass of the rotor further. Overall braking performance won't be enhanced so much with the 2pc but cooling value will go up for durable use on track. Prices however will jump to roughly 2X that of calipers alone given the rotor and hat cost. Be it known: you can't really "add" the 2pc parts later and certainly not for the same cost so if inclined; do it the first time. These kits can be pushed to 15" fronts and 14.25" rear in fact- wheel size permitting.

Im not saying he shouldnt get them, im saying switching to wilwood because oem are "skipped leg days" is not a wise choice since theyre the same size. I adviced to go with drag set up if he want to get rid of the "skipped leg day" look.

The reason why you don't see why it would help is because you didn't read/comprehend my original post. I specifically said the front "aero6" and "rear FNSL4" neither of which use the oem rotors on the "base" car.

Tod i thank you for the detailed response. I have all the technical information down. I've already seen a C5 owner on these forums upgrade to the brakes i referenced. I was curious if any C6 owners have because i wanna see what they look like. I've noticed all previous posts of owners asking about upgrading their base brakes to z06 brakes also got a bunch of people with nothing to offer posting. When I upgrade mine, guess i'll be the first to post for future owners that are curious like me.

FYI, my response was based on the fact the OP wanted to simply change to Wildwood for looks only and not for the better braking ability. What is this, thin skin Tuesday? Lol

Wow, looks like I'm the only one who has them...... I have the 6 piston front ,4 piston rear Big brake kit with the 14" 2 piece 1 1/4" thick rotors.... I can't get these rotors to heat up, but if I ever have to replace the 2 front rotors it will cost me $800.00 for the 14" set........WW

I'm sure there are others , but I don't recall seeing other base C6 pictures on here with Wilwood brakes.. Quite a few have upgraded to the ZO6 brakes but not to many have Wilwoods...Last month at Carlisle a bunch of people were stopping to look at my car, just to check out the 1/2" wheel offset and the Wilwood brake system. ..WW

^Exactly why i wanted to see if any C6 owners made the upgrade. I already knew i would be upgrading the brakes if i didn't get a grand sport. I was originally going to go with z06 brakes, but i really like the wilwoods and i wanted to travel the road less traveled. Also for me its not just upgrading the rotors but the ugly calipers as well.

Get the TX6R calipers man. They are sexy! And you can run 16" rotors!!
