Default Crate Engines vs Space Claim below C3 Hoods

Hoping there may be some experience and/or knowledge of a readily available crate engine that will fit below the Std C3 Hood. I am aware of the Edelbrock E-Street 350 CID (PN45080) that will fit using the PN 2701 manifold. Also, as an option, I am looking at the Chev Perf 350 RamJet EFI Crate engine and cannot find any specs or expertise that may offer some info whether this crate will fit below the C3 Stinger Hood. Sort of at a dead end trying to upgrade my anemic L82. Thanks.

I'm running a ZZ4 with a Qjet and stock air cleaner. Fits fine under the stock hood.

I'm running a ZZ383 Deluxe, with the vortec intake it sits high. Even with an L88 hood I needed a drop base air cleaner.

Where can one find a drop base air cleaner? I'm considering going the 350 Vortec crate route instead of a rebuild.

Jegs, Summit, really any retail outlet that carries parts should have them.

The biggest factor is going to be the intake (if it is a standard 350 or 383 small block). If it's a low-rise intake (like the standard Performer style intake) it will fit. If it's one of the taller ones (Air-Gap, Performer RPM, etc...) you will need a drop base air cleaner. What year is your Vette? The later model ones (I believe starting in 78, though someone can correct me if I'm wrong) had a little more hood clearance.

The other factor is your carburetor. Are you using the stock Qjet? If so, make sure the intake is a spreadbore intake so you don't have to use a Carb flange adapter.
