Default Where can I get one of those?

I went to a Cruise In a few weeks ago and another guy had a 2005 like mine. He had a light under the hood like mine does and he had a switch connected in line with the light so he could turn the light off when he raised the hood.

Anybody know where I can get one of those for my 2005?

Thanks for any help.

The light will turn off by itself after about 20 minutes when the car goes to sleep.

You can also just unplug it.

I know it goes out by itself, but the one he had was made for the Corvette. It had about a one foot cord and the plugs were made to go in between the plug in that is down alongside the radiator. It had a little toggle switch on it.

I'll keep looking. Thanks.

I asked him where he got it and he said on the internet.

It was most likely home made.

The lights on your car time out after 15 of 20 minutes.

A simple toggle switch will do the trick, wire it so that it interrupts GND, place it were you please.

So why can't they be homemade by the guy selling them on ebay?

Was the light in the engine compartment an option? I have a base '09 1LT and it doesn't have an under hood light that I'm aware of.

It was only on the 05-06 models. GM deleted it in 07.

Since I open my hood for car shows, I just disconnected the light but I've wired switches into many of my motorcycles to turn various lights on and off. I bought them at one the the major auto part chains. If someone has a plug and play version on ebay, that would be the way I would go.

Check the aftermarket Corvette speciality shops. I had one on my C4. I bought it on line. My '10 GS doesn't have a light so I haven't looked into it.
